 My work brings me in contact with numerous individuals and families living a life of deficits. And there are some whose pain and poverty shake you to the core. 

The Devipujak families of Ablouaa village stay on government wasteland in shanties made from upcycled tin containers. An encroachment clearance drive had also erased their homes once, right in the middle of chilly winters. And on the same night, there were winter rains. 

It was a heart-wrenching moment when I met these families for the first time, wet and shivering in the bitter cold under the open sky. 

VSSM’s Mohanbhai, Sureshbhai and Dhrmabhai always stood along with these families. They immediately provided relief material, but the resolve now was to find a spot they can call their own. They filed an appeal to the government, obtained all the missing documents. I had pledged to not rest in peace until we have plots for these families. 

Finally, as a result of the sensitivity of District Collector and the District Development Officer and the compassion of our Chief Minister who continuously follows-up on pending matters, 14 families of Ablouaa village received residential plots. 

The years and centuries-old dream of finding a permanent address finally became a reality. And we were so over-joyed as if the plots were allotted to us. 

Our best wishes will always surround these families. We hope all the homeless families receive homes under our Prime Minister’s pledge of Housing for All. 

We are grateful for the support of our well-wishers and authorities. 

પાટણ વહીવટીતંત્રનો આભાર...

તકલીફમાં ને અભાવમાં રહેતા વિવિધ પરિવારોને નીત મળવાનું થાય.. 

પણ એમાં કેટલાકની તકલીફો આપણને હચમચાવી નાખે તેવી હોય..

પાટણના અબલૌઆગામમાં રહેતા દેવીપૂજક પરિવારો સરકારી જગ્યામાં પતરાનાં ડબ્બા ખુલ્લા કરી તેમાંથી બનાવેલા છાપરાંમાં રહે. 

સરકારી જગ્યામાં દબાણ ખુલ્લુ કરવાનું હોવાથી એકાદ વર્ષ પહેલાં ભર શિયાળે એમના છાપરાં તોડી પડાયેલા. 

છોપરાં તુટ્યા એ ઓછુ હતું તે તેજ દિવસે રાતના વરસાદ પડ્યો.ભયંકર સ્થિતિ એ વેળા નિર્માણ થયેલી. 

સાવ ખુલ્લામાં કકડતી ટાઢમાં ઠરતા આ પરિવારોને હું પહેલીવાર મળી. 

અમારા કાર્યકર મોહનભાઈ, સુરેશ, ધરમાભાઈ તો આ પરિવારોની પડખે સતત ઊભા હોય. તત્કાલ રાહત પહોંચાડવાનું તો કર્યું પણ હવે નિર્ધાર પોતાની માલીકીની જગ્યાનો હતો. સરકારમાં રજૂઆત કરી. ખુટતાં તમામ ડોક્યુમેન્ટ કઢાવ્યા. 

એમને મળી ત્યારે તમને સરનામું નહીં મળે ત્યાં સુધી ઝંપીશું નહીં એવો નિર્ધાર કરેલો.

આખરે કલેક્ટર શ્રી, જિલ્લા વિકાસ અધિકારી તેમજ પ્રાંત કલેક્ટર શ્રીની સંવેદનાના લીધે તેમજ આપણા મુખ્યમંત્રી શ્રીની લાગણી અને તેમના દ્વારા લેવાતા સતત ફોલોઅપથી અબલૌઆના 14 પરિવારોને રહેણાંક અર્થે પ્લોટ ફળવાયા..

પોતાના સરનામાંનું વર્ષોનું - આમ તો સદીઓનું સ્વપ્ન સાકાર થયું.. અમને તો જાણે અમને પોતાને જગ્યા મળી હોય એવો હરખ થયો.. 

આ પરિવારોને ઘણી શુભેચ્છા.. આશા રાખીએ ઘરવિહોણા આવા તમામ પરિવારોને આપણા વડાપ્રધાન શ્રીના સ્વપ્ન મુજબ ઘર મળે. ને એ ઘરે ફળે પણ ખરુ...

Gratitude

“Our entire life has been spent singing lullabies on the tunes of ektara, we have wandered through villages,  but we now want to settle down for good…” Ramaba from Patan’s Vagdod had shared when I had last met him.

VSSM’s Mohanbhai and local volunteer Sureshbhai persevered hard to ensure Ramaba and other four families like his obtain residential plots.

The District Collector also has been tremendously proactive towards this effort.

And how can we forget the support of our Chief Minister to ensure housing for all?

The efforts of all amalgamated to ensure these five families receive residential plots and documents to it.

“Not even in our wildest dreams had we imagined we would have a definite address in this lifetime, you have brought us this joy,” the families have been brimming with joy.

The village Sarpanch and local authorities’ positive attitude has enabled this allotment.

We shall remain consistent and persistent to ensure these homeless families who often sigh, “Ben, even the birds have nest when will we have a home to stay,” receive an address to build their home.

We are and shall remain eternally grateful to all of you for choosing to support us in our endeavours.

આભાર...

'રાવણહથ્થા પર ભજનો ને હાલરડાં વગાડવામાં આખી જીંદગી કાઢી. એક ગામથી બીજેને ત્યાંથી ત્રીજે ખુબ રઝળ્યા.. પણ હવે ઠરીઠામ થવું છે...'

પાટણના વાગદોડમાં રહેતા રામાબા ભરથરીએ એમને મળવાનું થયેલું એ વેળા આ કહેલું.

અમારા કાર્યકર મોહનભાઈ અને આ વિસ્તારમાં અમને મદદરૃપ થતા સુરેશે રામાબા ને એમના જેવા બીજા ચાર પરિવારોને પ્લોટ મળે તે માટે જેહમત ઉઠાવી.

કલેક્ટર શ્રી પણ હકારાત્મક..

વળી સહયોગ આદરણીય મુખ્યમંત્રી શ્રીનો પણ.. 

આમ સૌના સમન્વયથી આ પાંચે પરિવારોને રહેણાંક અર્થે પ્લોટની સનદ મળી. આ પરિવારોનો હરખ તો માતો નથી. એ લોકો કહે, 

'અમને કલ્પાન જ નહોતી કે અમારુ પાક્કુ સરનામુ થશે પણ તમે સાથે આવ્યા ને લાગ્યા રહ્યા એટલે થયું'

ગામના સરપંચ ને અન્ય અધિકારીગણનો સહયોગ પણ સરસ રહ્યો એટલે આ કાર્ય થઈ શક્યું. 

પંખીઓને પણ માળા હોય બેન ત્યારે અમારે ઘર કેમ નહીં એવું કહેનાર આ પરિવારોનું પોતાનું ઘરનું સ્વપ્ન સાકાર થાય તે માટે અવીરત મથીશું...

આ કાર્યમાં મદદ કરનાર સૌનો આભાર..

રામાબા ને મળવાનું થયેલું તે અને તેઓ જે સ્થિતિમાં રહે છે તેની તસવીર સાથે પ્લોટ મળ્યાની સનદ.. બધુયે સમજવા ખાતર...

 “I took this house, postponing the marriage of my young daughter, to preserve your honor. Isn't your soul happy to see the house?”

The Lions Club of Shahibaug gave Rs 50,000 to each of the twelve families including Sherkhanbhai to build a house in Benap. We know that a house cannot be built in fifty thousands rupees.. But if the person himself adds money, the fun of living in that house will be much more.

We said at the time, “Take time but build a nice house”.

Sherkhanbhai, Mashruba, Chhatrabhai sold the plastic pots and buckets and saved each single rupee at a time to make a nice house as seen in the photo.

However, in the meanwhile, when he got tired, we did a little help of seven thousand again. While helping on that, We said again, 'If you don't finish the house, no one will trust us and no one else will give you help in future.”

He understood this very well .. He spent about three lakhs in one house and built a nice house.

When I went to Benap, he held my hand and took me to his house. He showed how he has built and decorated the house.  Love to all these families ..

We always thank all the supporters. But these families paid the value of our trust.

વાત બેણપથી...

'તમારુ મોન જળવાય એ હાતર મારી જુવાન છોડીના લગન કરવાનું હાલ મોડી વાળીન્ મીએ આ ઘર કીધુ. તમારો આતમા ઘર જોઈન રાજી થ્યો ક નઈ?' 

બેણપમાં રહેતા શેરખાનભાઈ ને એમના જેવા બીજા 12 પરિવારને ઘર બાંધવા માટે લાયન્સ ક્લબ ઓફ શાહીબાગે પ્રત્યેક પરિવારને પચાસ હજાર આપેલા. અમે જાણીએ પચાસ હજારમાં ઘર ન બંધાય. પણ વ્યક્તિ પોતે પણ પૈસા ઉમેરે તો એ ઘરમાં રહેવા જવાની મજા જ કાંઈ ઔર થઈ જાય..

અમે એ વેળા કહેલું, 'સમય લેજો પણ ઘર સરસ બાંધજો'તે શેરખાનભાઈ, મશરૃબા, છતરાભાઈએ તો પ્લાસ્ટીકના તબકડાં ને ડોલો વેચી એક એક પાઈ ભેગી કરીને ફોટોમાં દેખાય એવા સરસ ઘર બનાવ્યા. 

જો કે વચમાં એ થાકેલા ત્યારે સાત સાત હજારની નાની મદદ ફરી કરેલી. આ નાનેરી મદદ કરતી વેળા ફરી કહેલું, 

'ઘર પુરુ કરજો નહીં તો કોઈ આપણા પર ભરોષો નહીં કરે ને બીજા કોઈ ગરીબને મદદ નહીં મળે' 

બસ આ વાત એમણે બરાબર સમજી.. 

ત્રણ લાખ જેટલો ખર્ચ એક એક ઘરમાં એમણે કર્યો ને સરસ ઘર બનાવ્યા.બેણપ ગઈ ત્યારે હાથ પકડીને પોતાના ઘરમાં લઈ જઈને ઘર કેવા બનાવ્યા ને કેવા સજાવ્યા એ એમણે બતાવ્યું.. સાથે તમારુ મોન જાળવ્યું એવું પણ કહ્યું..

આ કાર્યમાં અમારા કાર્યકર ભગવાન આ પરિવારોને સતત પીઠબળ પૂરું પાડે માટેજ આ શક્ય બન્યું ..

આ બધા પરિવારોને પ્રેમ..

મદદ કરવાવાળાનો તો હંમેશાં આભાર હોય. પણ અમારી જીભાનની કિંમત આ પરિવારોએ બરાબર પાળી...

Officers and those who want to become officers, the text is long but I want you to read. 

We have not been able to deliver basic necessities to all the countrymen.

Everyone should get adequate food, proper medical facilities, housing and education, in which we are lacking. Even it has been years since Murthy said this.

Then who will do all this?

The government and then the society is fully responsible for this. 

If a person gets a position with rights and that person starts using that position properly, the result will be good for thousands.

Mr. K. Rajesh, Collector of Surendranagar is a very noble person. He felt that the poor and disadvantaged families who did not have a home to live in must have a home and for that he persuaded all the district officials.

We know The files for the plot or ration card are prepared but then the files are worked on at a snail's pace. K. Rajesh himself takes care of what is wrong with each file and instructs everyone to complete the task quickly.

If required then he goes for quality investigation and becomes a witness.

I came to Ahmedabad with a dream to become an officer. Then studied journalism and came in contact with many officials. The negative attitude was seen in most of them. Then the same attitude in dealing with nomadic tribes. They made me tired. 

I decided not to be a part of the system to change the system. What if I become like them? I put aside my desire to be an important officer to keep my heart alive and I did the work in which I found happiness.

But today I am happy to see the working method of few officers like K. Rajesh. I also see that everyone's heart does not change.

789 families without addresses have been given addresses in a very short period of time by the Collector and his team. And this work is still going on.

Recently 89 Devipujak families living in Dhrangadhra got plots to live. All are happy.

Our activists working in other areas say that if Rajesh comes to our district, our files, which have been pending in the government office for years, will also be revived.

I always say hope is immortal ..

Due to Corona, the work in the offices today has become slower than before, while K.Rajesh is doing the work of the underprivileged in full speed.

I have special respect for him.

Today, thousands of young people are preparing to become government officials. I will say to all of you that how you want to shape your country is in your hands.

Money is necessary in life but blind pursuit of it is useless. It is excellent in my opinion to do something that satisfies us when we introspect ourselves at one stage in life ... Moreover, there is no value of blessings in the deeds of such deprived people.

I hope Surendranagar model will be followed in other districts too ...

અધિકારીગણ અને અધિકારી બનાવની ઈચ્છા રાખનાર લખાણ લાંબુ છે પણ વાંચે એમ ઈચ્છુ...

તમામ દેશવાસીઓ સુધી પાયાની જરૃરિયાતો આપણે પહોંચાડી શક્યા નથી. 

દરેકને પૂરતું ભોજન, યોગ્ય દાકતરી સગવડો, રહેવા ઘર અને શિક્ષણ મળવું જોઈએ.. જેમાં આપણે ઊણા છીએ.. મૂર્તીએ આ વાત કહ્યાને પણ વર્ષો થયા છતાં...

ત્યાકે કોણ કરશે આ બધુ?

સરકારની મુખ્ય અને એ પછી સમાજની આ બાબતે ફરજ..

કોઈ વ્યક્તિને અધિકાર સાથે એક પદ મળે અને એ વ્યક્તિ એ પદનો યોગ્ય ઉપયોગ કરવા માંડે તો જે પરિણામ મળે તેનાથી હજારોનું ભલુ આપો આપ થઈ જાય..

સુરેન્દ્રનગરના કલેકટર શ્રી કે રાજેશ બહુ ઉમદા વ્યક્તિ. ગરીબ અને તકવંચિત જેમની પાસે રહેવા ઘર નથી તેવા પરિવારોને ઘર મળવા જ જોઈએ એવી ભાવના તેઓ રાખે અને તે માટે તેમણે જિલ્લાના તમામ અધિકારીઓને સાબદા કરી દીધા. 

આપણે જાણીએ છીએ. રહેવા પ્લોટ કે રાશનકાર્ડ માટે ફાઈલો તૈયાર થાય પણ પછી એ ફાઈલો પર કાચબાની ગતિએ કામ થાય. કે રાજેશ દરેક ફાઈલોમાં શું તકલીફ છે તેનો જાયજો પોતે લે અને ફટાફટ કાર્ય પૂર્ણ કરવા સૌને સૂચના આપે.

જરૃર પડે જાત તપાસ માટે જાય અને ક્યાંક પોતે સાક્ષી બની જાય.

હું અમદાવાદમાં અધિકાર બનાવાના સમણાં સાથે આવી. પત્રકારત્વ ભણી અને ઘણા અધિકારીઓના સંપર્કમાં આવી. નકારાત્મક અભીગમ મોટાભાગનામાં જોવા મળ્યો. એ પછી વિચરતી જાતિઓ સાથેના કામોમાં પણ એજ અભીગમ. થકવાડી નાખે એટલા ધક્કા.. 

સીસ્ટમ બદલવા માટે સીસ્ટમનો ભાગ થવાનું મે માંડી વાળ્યું. હું પણ આમના જેવી થઈ જઈશ તો? મારો માંહ્યલો જીવતો રહે એ મારે મન મહત્વનું મે અધિકારી બનવાની મનછા બાજુએ મૂકી દીધી અને જેમાં હું રાજી હતી તે કાર્ય મે કર્યું...

પણ આજે કે રાજેશ.જેવા જૂજ અધિકારીઓની કાર્ય કરવાની પદ્ધતિ જોઈને રાજીપો થાય છે. બધાનો માંહ્યલો બદલાતો નથી એ પણ જોવું છું.

સરનામાં વગરના 789 પરિવારોને ખૂબ જ ટૂંકાગાળામાં કલેક્ટર શ્રી અને એમની ટીમે સરનામુ આપ્યું છે. અને આ કાર્ય અટક્યું નથી ચાલી જ રહ્યું છે..

તાજેતરમાં ધ્રાંગધ્રામાં રહેતા 89 દેવીપૂજક પરિવારોને રહેવા પ્લોટ મળ્યા. સૌ રાજી છે..

અમારા બીજા વિસ્તારમાં કાર્ય કરતા કાર્યકરો કહે છે, બને કે રાજેશ અમારા જિલ્લામાં આવી જાય તો સરકારી કચેરીમાં વર્ષોથી પેન્ડીંગ પડેલી અમારી ફાઈલો પણ સજીવન થઈ જાય..

હું હંમેશાં કહુ છુ આશા અમર છે..

કોરાનાને લીધે આજે કચેરીઓમાં કાર્યો પહેલાં પણ ધીમાં હતા એમાં વધુ ધીમાં થઈ ગયા છે ત્યારે કે રાજેશ વંચિતોના કાર્યો ધમધમાવીને કરી રહ્યા છે. 

તેમના માટે મને વિશેષ આદર છે..

આજે હજારોની સંખ્યામાં યુવાઓ સરકારી અધિકારી બનવાના સમણાં સાથે તૈયારી કરી રહ્યા છે. આ બધાને દેશ કેવો બનાવો છે તે તમારા હાથમાં છે તેવું ખાસ કહીશ..

પૈસો જીવનમાં જરૃરી છે પણ એના માટે આંધળી દોટ નકામી છે. જીવનમાં એક તબક્કે આત્મ નિરીક્ષણ કરીએ ત્યારે સંતોષ થાય તેવું કરીને જઈએ તે મારા હિસાબે ઉત્તમ છે... વળી આવા વંચિતોના કાર્યોમાં આશિર્વાદના ભાથાની તો કોઈ કિંમત જ નથી.. 

આશા રાખુ અન્ય જીલ્લામાં પણ સુરેન્દ્રનગર મોડલ અનુસરાય...

આ કાર્ય કે. રાજેશ કરી શક્યા તે માટે તેમને મજબૂત પીઠબળ પુરુ પાડનાર મુખ્યમંત્રી શ્રી વિજયભાઈ રૃપાણી અને સમાજિક ન્યાય અધિકારીતા મંત્રી શ્રી ઈશ્વરભાઈ પરમારનો ખૂબ આભાર..

કે. રાજેશને આગળ પણ આવા સુંદર કાર્યો કરવાની શુભેચ્છા...

Mittal Patel meets Vansfoda families of Patan

The government has made special provisions and budgetary allocations to ensure its pledge of housing for all by 2022. The Panchayat Raj Department has also passed a mindful resolution to make this pledge a reality. According to the resolution, if the name of any family eligible to receive a plot in the village remains unregistered in the Panchayat Register, the respective revenue officer and Circle Inspector will be held responsible for the gaps. The TDO will also have to take a certificate from the Circle Officer that assures that the register is duly maintained. 

If this provision is implemented properly no family will remain homeless, also it is the citizens' responsibility to ensure this resolution is put in practice. 

We have started providing the lists and applications of homeless families in our contact, to the respective District Collectors. As a result, excellent work has begun happening at the grassroots. 

Recently, the land committee approved the allocation of plots to 4 Vansfoda families of Patan’s Vadu village. 

The collector of Patan is an extremely humble human being. In a recent meeting, he assured to call a special meeting to review and speed up the applications. 

It is a well-known fact when the political and administrative wings join forces the outcome is always worthwhile. We are expecting similar wonders in this aspect too. 

We are grateful to the Collector, the administration and the Government for their proactiveness. 

The images shared here are of the families who will soon have plots of their own, within two years this reality will be different for all these families. 

 2022 સુધીમાં ઘરવિહોણા તમામ પરિવારોના ઘર થાય એ માટે સરકારે અલાયદુ આયોજન અને બજેટ ફાળવ્યા છે. 

આ આયોજનના ભાગરૃપે પંચાયત વિભાગે એક સુંદર ઠરાવ કર્યો છે. જે મુજબ ગામમાં પ્લોટ મેળવવાને પાત્ર એક પણ કુટુંબનું નામ પંચાયતના રજીસ્ટરમાં નોંધાયા વિનાનું  રહી જશે તો તે અંગે સંબધકર્તા તલાટી કમ મંત્રી અને સર્કલ ઈન્પેક્ટરને અંગત રીતે જવાબદાર લેખવામાં આવશે.ટીડીઓ શ્રીએ પણ સર્કલ ઓફીસર પાસેથી રજીસ્ટર્ડ બરાબર નિભાવાય છે તે મુજબનું પ્રમાણપત્ર લેવાનું રહેશે.આ જોગવાઈનો બરાબર અમલ થાય તો એક પણ વ્યક્તિ ઘર વગરનો ન રહે.. વળી આ ઠરાવનો અમલ કરાવવાની જવાબદારી પ્રજા તરીકે આપણી..

હાલમાં અમે જુદાજુદા જિલ્લા કલેકટર શ્રીને ઘર વિહોણા અમારા સંપર્કમાં હોય તેવા પરિવારોની યાદી વિધીસર દરખાસ્ત સાથે આપી છે. જેના લઈને કેટલાક જિલ્લામાં કલેક્ટર શ્રી દ્વારા ઉત્તમ કાર્ય થવા માંડ્યું છે.

તાજેતરમાં જ પાટણના વડુમાં રહેતા 4 વાંસફોડા પરિવારોને પ્લોટ આપવાનું લેન્ડ કમીટીએ નક્કી કર્યું..

પાટણ કલેક્ટર શ્રી બહુ ભલા વ્યક્તિ છે. તમની સાથે થયેલી બેઠકમાં એમણે તમામ અરજીઓ પર જરૃર પડે એક બેઠક બોલાવી યોગ્ય કરવાની અમને ખાત્રી આપી.. રાજકીય પાંખની કટીબદ્ધતા દેખાય છે. બસ વહીવટી પાંખ એમાં જોડાય તો ઘણું સુંદર કાર્ય થાય..

કલેક્ટર શ્રીનો ખુબ આભાર..અમણે જે પરિવારોને રહેવા પોતાની જગ્યા આપી તે હાલમાં જે સ્થિતિમાં રહે છે તે ફોટોમાં જોઈ શકાય છે. આ સ્થિતિ બે વર્ષમાં બદલાશે..મદદ કરનાર અધિકારીગણ, સરકારનો આભાર...

Galbakaka sings lullabies on the tunes of his ektara/Ravanhattha. The families who host him offer sarees in return of his melodies lullabies that bless their new born. It is has been a traditional practice, the sarees aren’t used as drape but to make shelters, protect them from the harshness of forces of nature. “How does one even feel secured under such a house, what do such houses protect one from?” I had asked myself when I had seen these houses for the first time. Nonetheless, many Bharathari families like Galbakaka have survived like so on government wastelands for generations. There is a constant fear of eviction by the enforcement department.

The efforts by VSSM have led to the formation of special provisions that allow allocation of residential plots to NT-DNTs yet,  some nomadic communities like the Bharthari did not stand to benefit under this provision as their sub-sect was not part of the list. VSSM appealed for the inclusion of certain sub-sects to the list of included communities,  one of which was Bharthari as sub-sect of Nath community. The inclusion unlocked the possibility of Bharthari receiving residential plots from the government. We have been struggling for years to make it feasible for this community to benefit under such government policies, but things kept getting dragged and delayed.

In the meantime, Shri Anand Patel took charge as District Collector of Banaskantha. Growing up, Anandbhai has experienced the presence of the nomadic communities in his village, he had seen them work hard when they came to provide various services in the village he grew up. Anandbhai felt it was his turn to give back, and pledged to give them permanent addresses. Anandbhai’s compassion and commitment have been backed by the support from our Chief Minister  Shri Vijaybhai Rupani and Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Shri Ishwarbhai Parmar and his very own team member Additional officer Shri Hirenbhai Patel. As a result, Anandbhai has promised himself to accomplish as much as he can to fulfil his pledge.

The Banaskantha administration has been instrumental in offering the most significant gift to 114 families from Bharthari, Vansfoda, Devipujak, Valmiki and Raval communities of  Mahadeviya, Aadoda, Odhav, Rajpur, Ratanpur, Bhadrevadi, Raviyana, Tana, Shihori villages of Kankrej and Deesa blocks. These families received documents to their residential plots during a special program organised on the auspicious day of Labh Pancham.

Shri Kirtisihji, MLA from Kankrej and someone who works for the benefit of the poor, Shir Bharatsinhji Bhatesariya, BJP General Secretary also remained present at this event.

VSSM’s team members who work very hard for these families Naranbhai, Maheshbhai, Bhagwanbhai, Ishwarbhai remained on their toes.

The poor benefited when people joined hands to contribute towards the welfare and good of these families.

Today, Galbakaka is not with us, but his soul will experience happiness and peace when his wife will soon move into a pucca house of her own.

We salute our Prime Minister’s pledge of providing house to the homeless by the end of 2022.  The administration has taken up this pledge as an opportunity and become instrumental in allotment of plots and houses to all,  including the nomadic and de-notified communities. We hope just like Surendranagar and Banaskantha other districts also speed up the task of clearing long-pending applications for allotment of residential plots.

ગલબાકાકા રાવણહથ્થા પર હાલરડાં ગાવાનું કરે.. ભેટમાં લોકો સાડી ને દાણા આપે. આ સાડીમાંથી ગલબાકાકા ને એમના જેવા ભરથરીઓ પોતાનું છાપરુ ઊભુ કરે..(જે ફોટોમાં દેખાય છે) મે પહેલીવાર એમનું આ આશિયાના જોયેલું ત્યારે થયેલું આમાં તો ટાઢ, તડકો કે વરસાદ કશુંયે રોકાય નહીં.. આવામાં કેવી રીતે રહી શકાય?  પણ ગલબાકાકા જેવા ઘણાય આવી જ રીતે રહેતા હતા. વળી પાછુ રહેઠાણની જગ્યા પણ સરકારી. કાયમ કોઈ ખાલી કરાવી દેશેનો ભય તો એમના માથે તોળાતો જ હોય. કાકા કહેતા ‘બેન એક ફેરા મારુ પાક્કુ ઘર થઈ જાય ને તો ગંગા નાહ્યા...’ એમનું ને એમના જેવા ઘણાનું આ સમણું સાકાર થાય એ માટે VSSM કોશીશ કરે...

આમ તો વિચરતી જાતિના પરિવારોને પ્લોટ ફળવાય એ માટે સરકારે ખાસ જોગવાઈ કરી છે. પણ સદાય વિચરતુ જીવન જીવતા ભરથરીનું નામ આ યાદીમાં દાખલ થવાનું રહી ગયું. અમે કોશીશ કરીને ને મૂળ નાથ સમુદાયના પર્યાય તરીકે ભરથરીનો સમાવેશ થયો..ને એમને રહેણાંક અર્થે પ્લોટ ફાળવવાની બારી ખુલ્લી થઈ.. 

આ પરિવારોને રહેણાંક અર્થે પોતાનો પ્લોટ મળે તે માટે અમે વર્ષોથી રજૂઆત કરીયે પણ કહેવાય છે ને જેના હાથમાં જશ રેખા હોય, જેમના હૃદયમાં વંચિતો માટે કરુણાભાવ એમના હાથે આવા શુભ કાર્યો થાય.. 

બનાસકાંઠા કલેક્ટર તરીકે શ્રી આનંદ પટેલે કાર્યભાર સંભાળ્યો. આનંદભાઈ અદના ગુજરાતી નાનપણમાં વિચરતી જાતિના પરિવારોને પોતાના ગામમાં અવનવી સેવા આપવાના હેતુસર આવતા દીઠેલા એટલે એ ઋણાનુબંધે પણ એમણે આ પરિવારોને પોતાનું સરનામુ આપવાનું નક્કી કર્યું. એમાં સાથ મલ્યો માનનીય મુખ્યમંત્રી શ્રી વિજયભાઈ રૃપાણીનો તેમજ સામાજિક ન્યાય અધિકારીતા વિભાગના મંત્રી શ્રી ઈશ્વરભાઈ પરમારનો. વળી પોતાની ટીમમાં શ્રી હીરેનભાઈ પટેલ જેવા પ્રાંત અધિકારી પણ એટલે થાય એટલું કાર્ય કરી લેવાનો નિર્ધાર પોત મેળે જ થઈ જાય..

#મહાદેવિયા ઉપરાંત આસેડા, ઓઢવ, રાજપુર, રતનપુરા, ભદ્રેવાડી, રવિયાણા, તાણા, શિહોરી એમ મળીને કાંકરેજ અને ડીસા તાલુકામાં રહેતા ભરથરી, વાંસફોડા, દેવીપૂજક, વાલ્મિકી, રાવળ એમ કુલ 114 પરિવારોને લાભ પાંચમના શુભ અવસરે રહેણાંક અર્થે પ્લોટ ફાળવી આ પરિવારોના કલ્યાણમાં બનાસકાંઠાનું વહીવટીતંત્ર નિમિત્ત બન્યું ને સનદ વિચરણનો સુંદર કાર્યક્રમ થયો..

કાંકરેજના ધારાસભ્ય ને નાના માણસોની મુશ્કેલીમાં સદાય સાથે ઊભા રહેનાર શ્રી કીર્તીસીંહજી, ભાજ્પના મહામંત્રી શ્રી ભારતસીંહજી ભટેસરિયા વગેરે આ કાર્યમાં ખાસ ઉપસ્થિત રહ્યા.. 

બનાસકાંઠાના અમારા સક્રિય કાર્યકરો નારણભાઈ, મહેશભાઈ, ભગવાનભાઈ તેમજ ઈશ્વરભાઈની પણ સતત દોડધામ... 

મંગલકાર્યમાં સૌ સાથે આવ્યા ને આ પરિવારોનું મંગલ થયું... આજે ગલબાકાકા સદેહે હાજર નથી પણ એમના પત્ની થોડા સમયમાં જ પોતાના ઘરમાં રહેવા જશે એ જોઈને એમનો આત્મા જરૃર રાજી થશે..  

2022 સુધીમાં તમામ ઘરવિહોણા પરિવારોને ઘર આપવાના માનનીય વડાપ્રધાન શ્રીના સંકલ્પને પ્રણામ... 

ઈશ્વરે આપેલી આ તક વહીવટીતંત્રએ ઉપાડી છે. બનાસકાંઠા, સુરેન્દ્રનગરની જેમ અન્ય જિલ્લામાં પણ આ બાબતે વેગ પકડાય એમ ઈચ્છીએ..

સૌનું કલ્યાણ થાવોની ભાવના....

26 homeless  Devipujak and Raval families living in Patan’s Mithadhrva received residential plots some time ago. I was in the region to monitor the progress of the construction of houses. Amratbhai whose house was deconstruction was thrilled beyond comprehension, “We just couldn’t digest the fact that someday we too shall be homeowners, how much have we endured to get the residential plots allotted!!”

The families were devoid of any hope of obtaining a residential plot when almost a year ago,  our Mohanbhai had visited them for the first time. However, the compassionate District Collector Shri Anandbhai made this wildest dream a reality.  

The village Sarpanch also displayed tremendous support for these families. 

We are relieved as well,  that 26 homeless families will finally have a home, an address and a place to belong. 

VSSM also facilitated the process of procuring caste certificates, all the families in the settlement now have proofs of their identity. 

The images share the joy and sense of relief on the faces of these families over the construction of houses. 

Contentment is a word and feeling these families teach us in more ways than one.

પાટણના મીઠાધરવા ગામમાં રાવળ અને દેવીપૂજક સમુદાયના ઘર વિહોણા 26 પરિવારોને પ્લોટ ફળવાયા અને એ પ્લોટ પર ઘર બંધાવાનું શરૃ થયું તે એ જોવા જવાનું થયું. એ વેળા જેમનું ઘર બંધાઈ રહ્યું હતું તે અમરતભાઈએ બહુ ભાવથી આ વાત કહી..

પહેલીવાર અમારા કાર્યકર મોહનભાઈ આ વસાહતમાં ગયા ત્યારે નિરાશાથી ધેરાયેલા આ પરિવારોને જરાય આશા નહોતી કે એમને એક જ વર્ષમાં પ્લોટ મળી જશે..

પણ કલેક્ટર શ્રી આનંદભાઈની લાગણીથી આ બધુ થયું.. 

સરપંચ પણ ભલા માણસ એમણે પણ મદદ કરી..

26 પરિવારોને પાકુ ઘર મળ્યાનો હાશકારો અમને હોય જ...

સાથે આ વસાહતમાં રહેતા જેમની પાસે જાતિ પ્રમાણપત્ર નહોતા તેમને પ્રમાણપત્ર મળે તે માટે પણ અમે મદદ કરી ને હવે વસાહતમાં સૌની પાસે ઓળખના તમામ આધારો થઈ ગયા..

કેવા સરસ ઘર બંધાઈ રહ્યા છે એ ફોટોમાં દેખાય સાથે ઘર થયાનો હાશકારો પણ દેખાય છે..

સંતોષ કોને કહેવાય એ આવા પરિવારોને મળીએ ત્યારે સમજાય...
