Anywhere we travel around the world, be it for work or leisure, we all look forward to coming back home. A home is a place all our pain and worries come to rest; home is a place we can just be! However, only some are lucky to own a house. VSSM has been instrumental in giving the happiness of a house to many families belonging to nomadic and denotified communities.
Until now, VSSM has been successful in building homes for 1500 families. The houses have been constructed with the support of the government or VSSM's well-wishing donors. In some instances, even the beneficial families have contributed to the process. These collective efforts resulted in the construction of these 1500 houses.
When we first met the Vansfoda families living in Banaskantha's Tadav village, none had identity documents. These documents helped bring identity to otherwise nameless humans. All they required now was a permanent address they could call home. The families and we had been striving for years to obtain residential plots. Finally, in 2023 after working tirelessly for not 3-4 but 16 years, these families now have a permanent addresses.
The phrase, 'things happen when they are destined to happen,' came to life in the case of these Vansfoda families.
After our dear Jaybhai Goswami took charge of Vav's BDO, he had mentioned on a call to let him know if we needed his help to resolve issues about Vav's block. So we mentioned these families of Tadav and requested his help to find a solution to this long pending issue.
Jaybhai and his team were swift in their action. Within short period, 13 families were allotted residential plots, and Rs 1.20 lacs as house construction aid under Pradhan Mantri Awas Scheme was also processed. However, assistance for sanitation units under MNREGA is still awaited. In short, the 9 Vansfoda families will receive Rs. 13,32,000 to construct their dream homes. While the amount will cover a substantial part of the construction cost, more is needed to build a proper house. Hence the remaining Rs. 7,08,750 has been provided by our well-wishing friend Shri Dharmenbhai Shah who believes that a suitable house is the first step to success. We are grateful to him and his family for their support. In current times, compassion is a rare quality which makes this family a rare one.
The collective contribution from the government, VSSM-affiliated Shri Dharmenbhai, Jayshreebahen Shah, the ex-sarpanch of Tadav Shri Pravinsinh Rajput has enabled these families to become first-generation homeowners.
Jaybhai is very empathetic towards the needs of such poor communities; hence when it comes to resolving their issues, he showcases tremendous proactiveness. For example, he immediately made water facilities for construction, or else we would have had to buy water. This also led to access to water for these families. Similarly, he has also planned to build connecting roads and bring electricity to the settlement. His officials have also applied for a community hall at the settlement.
Chief Minister Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel, the District Collector of Banaskantha, DDO, the revenue officer, and numerous officials and their teams have played pivotal roles in building this settlement. I am thankful for the support we have received.
On 2nd April, 2023, the families hosted housewarming ceremonies. The atmosphere was brimming with joy and cheer. Women were dancing to their heart's content on the beats of the dhol. "We had lost hope and weren't expecting to live in our own house during this lifetime. We are grateful for all the support we have found in you!" Padmabhai shared.
We also take this opportunity to thank everyone who has helped financially and physically. Unfortunately, I cannot mention each of you here, but your support has made this possible.
VSSM's Bhagwanbhai Raval and Naranbhai Raval played crucial roles throughout this process. Bhagwanbhai has remained constantly with these families, from preparing their documents to explaining the procedures to them; he played his role efficiently.
"Ben, give us many trees; our Shitla Maa loves shade-giving trees. We will also need to replace 3-4 jujube trees we had to remove while building the houses!" Padmabhai had expressed during the ceremony.
Such thoughtfulness needs to be revered. We pray for the happiness and prosperity of these families. The other four families have also received plots; we will now get on to build their homes too
આખી દુનિયા કામ માટે કે આનંદ માટે ફરીયે પણ થોડાક જ દિવસોમાં આપણને આપણું ઘર યાદ આવે. ઘર એ આપણા થાકનું સરનામુ છે. આપણને વિશ્રામ આપે છે.
પણ આ દુનિયામાં એવા ઘણા વ્યક્તિઓ છે જેમની પાસે પોતાના ઘરનું સુખ નથી. અમે વિચરતી જાતિના પરિવારોને આવું સુખ અપાવવામાં નિમિત્તે બનીએ.
અત્યાર સુધી ગુજરાતના વિવિધ ઠેકાણે રહેતા 1500 પરિવારોને ઘર અપાવવામાં અમે નિમિત્ત બન્યા. આ ઘર બાંધકામમાં ક્યાંક સરકારની સહાય મળી તો ક્યાંક સહાય ન પણ મળી ત્યાં VSSM સાથે સંકળાયેલા સ્વજનોએ મદદ કરી. ઘણામાં લોકોએ પોતે પણ પોતાનાથી થાય તે ઉમેરો કર્યો. ટૂંકમાં સહુના સહિયારા પ્રયાસથી ઘર બંધાયા.
બનાસકાંઠાનું ટડાવગામ. વાંસફોડા વાદી પરિવારો ત્યાં વસે. સૂડલાં ટોપલાં બનાવીને વેચવાનું કરતા આ પરિવારોને જ્યારે પહેલીવાર મળેલા ત્યારે તો એમની પાસે ઓળખના આધારો પણ નહોતા. એ બધુ કઢાવી આપી આ આળખાણ વગરના માણસોને ઓળખાણવાળા કર્યા. હવે જરૃર હતી પોતાના કાયમી સરનામાંની અને એ મળે તે માટે મહેનત તો વર્ષોથી કરતા. વળી આ વર્ષો એટલે બે પાંચ વર્ષ નહીં પણ સોળ વર્ષ મહેનત કરી ત્યારે જતા 2023માં આ પરિવારો ઘરવાળા થયા.
આમ તો આપણે ગમે તેટલું મથીયે પણ જ્યારે લખ્યું હોય ત્યારે જ આ બધુ થાય. એ વાંસફોડા પરિવારોના કિસ્સામાં તદન સાચુ ઠર્યું.
વાવ તાલુકા વિકાસ અધિકારી તરીકે પ્રિય જયભાઈ ગોસ્વામી આવ્યા. એ અમારા કામથી પરીચીત એમણે વાવનો પદભાર સંભાળ્યા પછી ફોન પર વાવ વિસ્તારમાં વિચરતી જાતિના પરિવારોની મુશ્કેલીઓ હોય તો મને જણાવજો એવું કહેલું ને વર્ષોથી સરકારી કચેરીમાં ધરબાયેલું ટડાવના વાંસફોડા પરિવારોને સરનામુ અપાવવાનું કામ એમને કહ્યું.
એમણે અને એમની ટીમે પછી તો જબરો ઉપાડો લીધો. ટૂંક સમયમાં 13 પરિવારોને રહેણાંક અર્થે પ્લોટ ફાળવ્યા અને પ્રધાનમંત્રી આવાસ યોજના અંતર્ગત એકદમ ઝડપથી 1.20 લાખ એમણે આપી દીધા. હજુ શૌચાલય અને મનરેગા અંતર્ગત પણ સહાય મળશે. ટૂંકમાં સરકાર તરફથી 13,32,000 નવ પરિવારોના ઘર બાંધકામ માટે મળશે. આમ તો મોટાભાગની રકમ મળી ગઈ.
પણ આટલી રકમમાંથી ઘર ન બને. ખૂટતી રકમ 7,08,750 અમારા પ્રિય સ્વજન અને મુંબઈમાં રહેતા ધર્મેનભાઈ શાહે આપી. ધર્મેનભાઈ પોતે ઘરને માણસની પ્રગતિનું પ્રથમ સોપાન માને એટલે એમણે આ નવ પરિવારોના ઘર બાંધકામમાં સહયોગ કરવાનું નક્કી કર્યું. તેમના અને તેમના પરિવારના અમે સૌ ઘણા આભારી. વંચિતોની પીડા સમજનાર આ દુનિયામાં બહુ જૂજ એ રીતે આ પરિવારો નોખો...
આમ સરકાર અને VSSM સાથે સંકળાયેલા પ્રિય સ્વજન ધર્મેનભાઈ, જયશ્રી બહેન શાહ અને ખાસ ટડાવગામના સમગ્ર ગ્રામજનો અને તેમના જાગતલ ભૂતપૂર્વ સરપંચ શ્રી પ્રવિણસિંહ રાજપૂતની લાગણીથી આ પરિવારો ઘરવાળા થયા.
જયભાઈની તકવંચિતો માટેની સંવેદના બહુ નોખી. એમણે આ વસાહતમાં પાણીની સુવિધા તત્કાલ કરાવી નહીં તો ઘર બાંધવા અમારે વેચાતુ પાણી ખરીદવું પડત. વળી આ નિમિત્તે આ પરિવારોને પાણીનું સુખ થઈ ગયું. વાત હવે આવી વીજળી અને વસાહતને મુખ્ય માર્ગ સાથે જોડતા રોડની તો એ માટે પણ એમણે આયોજન કરી દીધુ. સાથે કમ્યુનીટી હોલ આ વસાહતમાં બંધાય એ માટે પણ એમણે સરકારમાં દરખાસ્ત કરી દીધી.
મુખ્યમંત્રી શ્રી ભુપેન્દ્રભાઈ પટેલ, બનાસકાંઠા કલેક્ટર શ્રી, જિલ્લા વિકાસ અધિકારી ટૂંકમાં આવા જાગતલ અધિકારી અને એમની સાથેની ટીમ, તલાટી શ્રીથી લઈને સૌનો સહયોગ આ કાર્યમાં ઘણો અને એટલે જ આ કાર્યો થયા. તેમના પ્રત્યે કૃતજ્ઞતાભાવ વ્યક્ત કરુ છું.
આ પરિવારોને ગૃહપ્રવેશ તા. 2 એપ્રિલ 2023ના રોજ થયા. બધા પરિવારો ખુબ રાજી. ઢોલ વગાડી એમણે સૌનું સ્વાગત કર્યું. બહેનો મન મુકીને નાચ્યા. પદમાભાઈ કહે, "આ જન્મારે ઘર થશે એવી આશા નહોતી. પણ થયું. એમણે સૌનો ઘણો આભાર માન્યો."
આ કાર્યમાં જેમણે પણ આર્થિકથી લઈને શારિરીક મદદ કરી તે સૌની આભારી છું. બધાના નામો નથી લખી શકી પણ તમે સાથે રહ્યા એટલે આ થઈ શક્યું.
અમારા કાર્યકર ભગવાનભાઈ રાવળ અને નારણભાઈ રાવળની ભૂમિકા આમાં ખુબ મહત્વની રહી. ભગવાનભાઈ તો આ પરિવારોની સાથે સતત રહ્યો. તેમના કાગળિયા તૈયાર કરવાથી લઈને જરૃર પડી ત્યાં આ પરિવારોને સમજાવવામાં પણ તેમની ભૂમિકા મુખ્ય રહી.
ગૃહપ્રવેશ પછી પદમાભાઈએ કહ્યું, "બહેન ઝાડખા ખુબ આપજો. અમારા શીતળામાને ઝાડખા ગમે અમારા ઘર બાંધકામ નિમિતે બે ચાર બોરડીઓ કાઢવી પડે તે સામે ઘણા વાવવા પડશે ને.."
તેમની આ સમજણને પણ અમારા પ્રણામ...બસ નવા ઘરમાં સૌ સુખી થાવ ખુબ પ્રગતિ કરોની શુભભાવના સાથે 9 પછી 4 પરિવારોને પ્લોટ મળ્યા તેમના ઘરો પણ ઝટ કરીશું.
