Years ago, during a visit to families in Lodhika, Morbi, an unexpected downpour forced us to seek shelter in their shacks. Some were so cramped that one couldn’t even stand upright inside.

That experience left a lasting mark on us. What stayed with us was not just the fragility of these shelters, but the constant uncertainty that families have to live with. A home is more than four walls, it is the foundation of security and peace of mind.

Since then, we have committed ourselves to helping families secure proper homes, obtain essential documentation, and take steps toward a life of stability and dignity.

What began as a moment in the rain has shaped our journey of working towards lasting change.

 "What do you mean by 'if a house is built, then it will bring happiness'?"

I asked some of the women from the 104 families whose houses we are building in Bagasara, Amreli. In response, they all laughed together and said, "What do you mean by happiness? In the rainy season, there used to be worries about getting soaked and having to gather the grains. At times, when we had to put our daughters to sleep, we felt anxious about leaving them alone at home... but now, this house will be built, and that’s happiness. Now, do you understand what happiness is?"

I smiled and said yes... but I really like all of this.

A simple-hearted person will say what's in their mind without any pretense.

The VSSM project aims to build homes for thousands of families who are homeless. We are continuously working on this. If the government provides land to these homeless families who have been struggling for generations, we can complete this project very quickly.

In 2025, we plan to build 500 homes. We hope the government doesn’t create any obstacles in providing plots...

The families whose houses are being built in Bagasara are happy, and seeing them, we are happy too.

With the help of the government’s Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and the remaining assistance from our esteemed Kishore uncle’s beloved Kushalbhai’s memory, beautiful homes are being built for these 104 families.

These families have truly dug out their roots... Watching their lovely homes being built fills our hearts with joy.

May God always be the cause for such good deeds to happen.

"ઘર થશે તો હખ થઈ જશે એવું તમે ક્યો તે આ હખની વ્યાખ્યા શું?"

અમરેલીના બગસરામાં જેમના ઘરો અમે બાંધી રહ્યા છીએ તેમાંના 104 પરિવારોમાંથી કેટલાક બહેનોને મે પુછ્યું. જવાબમાં બધા એક સાથે હસ્યા ને કહ્યું, "લો હખ નથ ખબર? ચોમાસુ બેહે ને મીણિયું લેવું પડશેની ચિંતા થવા માંડતી, દિકરીઓને બારા ઊંઘાડતા કે ઘરે એકલી મુકી જાતા બીક લાગતી.. આ બધી વાતનું આ ઘર બંધાશે એટલે હખ થઈ જશે. હવે હખ હમજાયું?"

મે હસીને હા પાડી... પણ અમને આ બધા ખૂબ ગમે. 

ભોળા મનના માનવી મનમાં હોય એ જરાય આડંબર વગર કહી દે..

VSSM નો પ્રકલ્પ ઘર વિહોણા હજારો પરિવારોના ઘર બાંધવાનો. અમે એ માટે સતત મથ્યા કરીએ.. સરકાર ઘરવિહોણા અને સદીઓથી વગડો ખૂંદતા પરિવારોને જમીન આપે તો આ પ્રકલ્પ અમે ઝટ પૂરો કરી શકીએ.

વર્ષ 2025 માં 500 ઘર બાંધવા છે. સરકાર પ્લોટ આપવામાં  ખટકો રાખે એવું ઈચ્છીએ છીએ...

બગસરામાં જેમના ઘર બંધાઈ રહ્યા છે એ પરિવારો તો રાજી રાજી.. ને એમને જોઈને અમે પણ..

સરકારની પ્રધાન મંત્રી આવાસ યોજનામાં સહાય તેમજ અમારા આદરણીય કિશોર અંકલની પ્રિય કુશલભાઈની સ્મૃતિમાંથી બાકીની મદદથી 104 પરિવારોના સરસ ઘર બંધાઈ રહ્યા છે.

આ પરિવારોએ ખરેખર વગડો  ખૂંદયો છે.. એમની વ્હાલપની વસાહત બનતી જોઈને મન હરખાય છે..

કુદરત આવા અનેક શુભ કાર્યોમાં સદાય નિમિત્ત બનાવે તેવી શુભભાવના...

"Some are troubled by their caste, and some are troubled by their lineage.

Our narrow perspective and actions create a lot of disturbance.

This poem from Shunya Palanpuri always comes to mind when talking about the permanent settlement of wandering communities.

In many villages, families who have lived there for years are still not accepted by the villagers. However, in the Nichi Mandal of Morbi, the villagers, panchayat members, and the sarpanch showed respect and helped settle our 18 Gadaliya families in their village.

We worked hard to ensure that the government allocated plots for residential purposes. We also provided necessary identification documents.

Once the plots were allocated, under the Pandit Deendayal Awas Yojana, assistance of ₹1.20 lakh was also provided.

Before starting to build the homes, we asked the 18 families what kind of house they wanted, and everyone expressed a desire for houses like bungalows.

For ordinary people, having a home is a big thing. As generations had lived in tents, dreaming of a good house was natural.

We decided to build homes with two rooms, a kitchen, and a toilet/bathroom. The cost was quite high. The families contributed as per their abilities, and in addition, we received support from our respected individuals associated with VSSM, such as Shri Kanubhai Doshi, Shri Naveenchandra Mehta, Shri Rashminbhai Sanghvi, Shri Alim Adadiya, Shri Mayurbhai Nayak (Mabap Foundation), Smt. Bhavanaben Mehta (Aparna Foundation), Smt. Neetaben Parikh, late Shri Kalpeshbhai Parikh, Shri J.B. Packaging, Smt. Sudhaben Patel, Smt. Jashuben Patel, and the Alakhs family. This allowed the 18 families to move into a proper settlement from the slums.

The Chief Minister of the state, Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel, continuously supported this effort to provide homes to families without them. In addition, the Welfare Department, Morbi District Administration, and the Social Welfare Officer also provided continuous support, making this work possible.

After the homes of the 18 families were completed, their housewarming ceremony was conducted with the visit of Tankara's MLA, Shri Durlabhjibhai. A compassionate person, he immediately gave instructions for road and electricity facilities as well.

Our workers, Kanubhai and Chhayaben, worked tirelessly... They worked day and night to handle the paperwork in government offices and kept the families united despite minor conflicts.

Such dedicated workers are essential for the success of such projects.

We have built 1,751 homes... and now, our aim is to bring as many families as possible from huts to solid homes.

Once again, we express our gratitude to the government, our relatives associated with VSSM, villagers, the MLA, and the sarpanch.

We wish the families who once lived in huts now find happiness in the new settlement of Vhalapni Vasahat.

કોઈને નાત ખટકે છે કોઈને જાત ખટકે છે

શૂન્ય પાલનપુરીનો આ શેર અમારા વિચરતી જાતિના પરિવારોના કાયમી વસાવટની વાત આવ્યા ત્યારે અચૂક યાદ આવે.

અનેક ગામોમાં વર્ષોથી રહેતા પરિવારોને આજેય ગ્રામજનો અપનાવવા રાજી નથી ત્યારે મોરબીના નીચીમાંડલના ગ્રામજનો, પંચાયતના સભ્યો અને સરપંચ માટે માન થાય એવી રીતે એમણે અમારા 18 ગાડલિયા પરિવારોને એમના ગામમાં વસાવ્યા. 

રહેણાંક અર્થે સરકાર પ્લોટ ફાળવે એ માટે અમે મથ્યા.ઓળખના પુરાવા પણ અપાવ્યા.

પ્લોટ ફળવાયા પછી પંડિત દિનદયાળ આવાસ યોજના અંતર્ગત 1.20 લાખની સહાય અપાવવામાં પણ નિમિત્ત બન્યા. 

ઘર બાંધવાનું શરૃ કરતા પહેલા 18 પરિવારોને ઘર કેવા જોઈએ એ પુછ્યું ને સૌએ બંગલા જેવા ઘરની કામના કહી. 

નાના માણસો માટે ઘર કરવું મોટી વાત વળી પેઢીઓ રઝળતા ગઈ એટલે મજાના ઘરની કલ્પના હોવી સાહજીક.

અમે બે રૃમ, રસોડુ, ટોયલેટ બાથરૂમ વાળુ ઘર બાંધવાનું નક્કી કર્યું. ખર્ચ ઘણો થાય એમ હતો. પરિવારોએ એમના ગજા પ્રમાણે ટેકો કર્યો એ સિવાયનો ટેકો VSSM સાથે સંકળાયેલા અમારા આદરણીય શ્રી કનુભાઈ દોશી, શ્રી નવીનચંદ્ર મહેતા, શ્રી રશ્મીનભાઈ સંઘવી, શ્રી અલીમ અડાદિયા, શ્રી મયુરભાઈ નાયક- માબાપ ફાઉન્ડેશન, શ્રીમતી ભાવનાબેન મહેતા, અપર્ણ ફાઉન્ડેશન, શ્રીમતી નીતાબહેન પરીખ અને સ્વ.શ્રી કલ્પેશભાઈ પરીખ, શ્રી જેબી પેકેજિંગ - શ્રીમતી સુધાબહેન પટેલ- શ્રીમતી જશુબેન પટેલ, Alakhs family એ કર્યો ને 18 પરિવારો વગડામાંથી વહાલપની વસાહતમાં રહેવા ગયા.

ઘર વિહોણા પરિવારોને ઘર આપવાના આ કાર્યમાં રાજ્યના મુખ્યમંત્રી શ્રી ભુપેન્દ્રભાઈ પટેલનો સહયોગ સતત મળ્યો. એ સિવાય, વિકસતી જાતિ કલ્યાણ ખાતુ,  મોરબી જિલ્લા વહીવટીતંત્ર, સમાજ કલ્યાણ અધિકારી સૌએ પણ સતત સહયોગ કર્યો માટે આ કાર્ય થઈ શક્યું.

18 પરિવારોના ઘરો બંધાયા પછી એમનો ગૃહપ્રવેશ કરાવવા ટંકારાના ધારાસભ્ય શ્રી દુર્લભજીભાઈ ખાસ પધાર્યા. લાગણીવાળા વ્યક્તિ એમણે તુરત રસ્તા, વિજળીની સુવિધા માટે પણ સૂચના આપી.

અમારા કાર્યકર કનુભાઈ અને છાયાબહેનની મહેનત સખત.. સરકારી કચેરીમાં કાગળિયા કરવાનું, ક્યાંક નાની મોટી માથાકૂટમાં પરિવારોને સાથે રાખવાનું  આ બેયે દિવસ રાત જોયા વગર કર્યું...

આવા નિષ્ઠાવાન કાર્યકરો સાથે હોય એટલે આવા કાર્યો પાર પડે..

અમે 1751 ઘર બાંધ્યા... નેમ વધારે ને વધારે પરિવારોને ઝૂંપડામાંથી પાક્કા ઘરમાં લઈ જવાની.. 

ફરી સરકાર, VSSM સાથે સંકળાયેલા અમારા સ્વજનો, ગ્રામજનો, ધારાસભ્ય શ્રી, સરપંચ શ્રી સૌનો આભાર માનીએ છીએ...

પહેલા ગાડુ જ જેમનું ઘર હતું એ પરિવારો વ્હાલપની વસાહતમાં સુખી થાય એવી શુભભાવના...

I always talk about having a Ration Card but it is only when I meet families like Keshabhai that I realise how important the Ration Card is.

Keshabhai stays in a village Thur of Banaskantha with 3 children and a wife  in a dilapidated house. Our associate Paresh's house is nearby. Paresh sent me a video of Keshabhai's house on WhatsApp. On seeing the video it was difficult to call it a house.

There were walls and there was a roof but from many places inside the house one can see the sky. At one place the hole in the roof was so big that even monkeys would enter through it. Often the monkeys would pick the food and then Keshabhai had to stay hungry.

Paresh wrote to me that it would be nice if we can make a house for them. The feelings of  Paresh was so strong that we decided to repair Keshabhai's house.  Coincidentally I had to go to Thur during that time and I met Keshabhai. His 14 year old son was standing before me and I asked him what was he studying ? Keshabhai replied that he studied till 8th and now he has left the school. On asking why, Keshabhai replied it was because of lack of money. One gets primary education free but afterwards one has to spend some money towards fees etc. which they did not have. The only option was to leave the school. 

In monsoon the leakages and in Winter the cold makes it impossible to stay in the home. In the house they have two cots on which 5 persons sleep. From the big hole in the roof, the rain falls inside the house and flows out. Just that the roof does not fall, there was one pole kept as a support right in the middle of the house. 

Paresh could not hold back tears and cried while showing the house. He said that he does not have enough money to help Keshabhai repair his house.  It is because of such associates like Paresh that we are able to reach the needy people. 

We took a promise from Keshabhai that he will send his son to our hostel and in return we promised that we will build a house for him. 

Keshabhai agreed to this. Due to his illness he is unable to work much but he wants to secure the future of his son and he was happy if the future of his son improves by going to the hostel. 

He agreed to send his two small daughters to the hostel when they grow up. As soon as I left the village Thur, I received a call from Shri Alimbhai staying in Africa. He asked if any help is required and I immediately suggested the case of Keshabhai. Alimbhai agreed and within one & half months the house of Keshabhai was repaired.

Keshabhai was happy when I went to see the house. He said he was not confident of whether his house will be repaired or not. His wife also did not believe that it will happen. However when his neighbor Paresh told that the house will be done that he was surprised. He believed that God sent me to him. Keshabhai's face exuded happiness. Even the neighbors were happy and came to thank us.

We were only the intermediary. We got the credit but many thanks to our Alimbhai Adaatiyaa. . Many well-wishers like Alimbhai continuously help us and we have been able to construct 1700 houses so far for such needy families. 

We are happy and hope that many such big hearted donors will come forward so that we can construct many more homes.

'ચોમાસુ બેહન્ અમન્ બીક લાગવો મોડ.. હરખુ ઘર નઈક એકય.. મારી ઘરવાળી મજૂરી કર પણ ઓય ગોમડામો બારે મહિના મજૂરી ના મલ્. બે તૈઈણ મહિના કોમ મલ ઈમ ભેગુ કરી લેવાનું. બાકી રેશન મલ્ ઈના ઉપર હેડ!'

રેશનકાર્ડની અગત્યતતા નાના માણસોને કેટલી એની વાત અમે હંમેશાં કરીએ પણ કેશાભાઈ જેવા પરિવારોને મળુ ત્યારે એનું મૂલ્ય વધુ સમજાય. 

બનાસકાંઠાના થૂરમાં કેશાભાઈ રહે. ત્રણ બાળકો અને પત્ની સાથે જર્જરીત ઘરમાં એ રહે. અમારા કાર્યકર પરેશની બાજુમાં એમનું ઘર. એક દિવસ પરેશે મને વોટસઅપ પર વિડીયો મોકલ્યો. વિડીયો હતો કેશાભાઈના ઘરનો. ઘર કહેવું કે કેમ એ પ્રશ્ન વિડીયો જોઈને થાય.

ઘરને દિવાલો ખરી ને છત પર નળિયાય ખરા પણ છતમાંથી આકાશ દેખાય.. એક જગ્યાએ તો ચોખ્ખુ આકાશ દેખાય એવડુ  મોટુ બાકોરુ. એમાંથી વાંદરાય ઘરમાં આવજા કરે. ક્યારેક રાંધેલો રોટલો ઘરમાં આવીને લઈ જાય. ને એવા ટાણે કેશાભાઈને ભૂખ્યા રહેવાનો વારો આવે.

પરેશે લખેલું આપણે આમનું ઘર કરી શકીએ તો સારુ..

અમારા કાર્યકરો સંવેદનશીલ. એમની લાગણી હોય ત્યારે તો આ કાર્ય કરવાનું જ હોય. યોગાનુંયોગ એ વખતે થૂર જવાનું થયું ને કેશાભાઈને મળવાનું થયું.

એમનો 14 વર્ષનો દિકરો અમારી સામે ઊભેલો. મે પુછ્યું, 'શું ભણે?'

કેશાભાઈએ કહ્યું, 'આઠ ભણાયો. આ સાલથી ઉઠાડી મેલ્યો.'

'કેમ?'

'પૈસાની સગવડ ચોથી કરવાની?'

પ્રાથમિક શિક્ષણ મફત મળે પણ પછી પૈસા ખર્ચવા પડે. જે આ પરિવાર પાસે નહીં એટલે દિકરાને નિશાળમાંથી ઉઠાડી દીધેલો.

ચોમાસામાં તો ઘરમાં... એવા પ્રશ્નના જવાબમાં કેશાભાઈએ કહ્યું, 'બેન દંદુડા પડઅ.. અને શિયાળામો ટાઢ કે મારુ કોમ..'

ઘરમાં બે ખાટલા એ બે ખાટલામાં પાંચ જણા ભર ચોમાસે વરસતા વરસાદમાં સુવે.. બાકી છતમાં જે બાજુ મોટુ બાકોરુ ત્યાંથી પાણી પડે ને ઘરમાં થઈને એ બહાર જાય..

છત પડી ન જાય એ માટે ઘરની વચમાં એક ટેકણિયું પણ મુકેલું. 

પરેશ ઘર બતાવતા બતાવતા રડી પડ્યો. એણે કહ્યું, 'બેન મારી પાસે એટલા પૈસા નથી પણ આમનું ઘર થાય....' એ ભાવુક થઈ ગયો.. આવા લાગણીવાળા કાર્યકરો VSSM પાસે છે માટે જ સાચા અને જરૃરિયાતવાળા માણસો સુધી પહોંચી શકીએ.

કેશાભાઈ પાસે એમના દિકરાને ઉઘડી નીશાળે અમારી હોસ્ટેલમાં ભણવા મુકવાનું વચન માગ્યું. તમે વચન આપે તો ઘર બાંધી આપીશુંનું પણ કહ્યું.

એમણે કહ્યું, 'મુ તો રાજીજ સું. મારાથી કોમ નઈ થતું, બિમારી ના લીધે ખુબ હેરોન થવું. પણ મારા સોકરાનું ભવિસ્ય તમે બનાવો તો મુ તો રોજી. લઈ જજો તમ તમાર...'

નાની બે દીકરીઓને પણ મોટી થતા હોસ્ટેલમાં મુકશેની વાત થઈ. એ પછી ત્યાંથી નીકળી. થૂરમાંથી બહાર નીકળું ત્યાં આફ્રિકામાં રહેતા અમારા અલીમભાઈનો ફોન આવ્યો ને,  બેન ક્યાં મદદ કરવાની છે એમ પુછ્યું ને મે કેશાભાઈની વાત કરી..

એમણે કહ્યું ઘર કરી નાખો..

ને લગભગ દોઢ મહિનામાં અમે કેશાભાઈનું ઘર કરી નાખ્યું.

ઘર થયા પછી ઘર જોવા ગઈ તો કેશાભાઈ રાજી. એમણે કહ્યું. 'તમે આઈન જ્યાં પણ મન ખાતરી નતી ક આ થાય. તમે જ્યા પસી મારી ઘરવાળી ખેતરેથી આઈ મીએ ઈન કીધુ તો એય મોનતી નતી. પણ પરા(પરેશે)એ આઈન કીધુ ક ઘર કરવાનું હ્. તાણ નવઈ લાગી.. ભગવોને તમન મેલ્યા...'

કેશાભાઈના ચહેરા પર આનંદ હતો... પડોશીઓ પણ આભાર માનવા આવ્યા..

આમ જુઓ તો અમે નિમિત્ત.. ઘર બાંધનાર કોણ ને જશ કોને મળે? પ્રિય અલીમભાઈ અદાતિયાનો ઘણો આભાર.. 

અલીમભાઈ જેવા ઘણા સ્વજનો સતત મદદ કરે માટે આવા 1700 થી વધારે પરિવારોના ઘર અમે બાંધી શક્યા...

બસ રાજીપો.. ને વધુ લોકો સાથે આવશે તો આવા અનેક પરિવારોના ઘર બાંધી શકીશું..

Groundbreaking ceremony

Invited guests included Respected Shri Kaushikbhai Vekaria. A senior from the village Navdhanbapa was given the responsibility to honour the guest with a book and a bouquet of flowers. One person came on the stage with a tray in which the book and the bouquet were kept. Navdhanbapa took the entire tray and gave it to the guest Shri Kaushikbhai. People present were guiding Navdhanbapa how to go about the presentation.He was told to look at the photographer , keep the tray down and give the book and bouquet to the guest.  The same thing happened when honouring other guests MLA Shri Bagsara, the municipal commissioner & other officers. Only when the last two guests were left to be honoured that the correct procedure was followed. 

The incident is a bit light hearted and brought smiles on every one's face. Our Navdhanbapa confessed that he has never seen so many dignitaries being present  in their community. This was his first experience. 

Totally innocent & honest. 104 families of Amreli district  stayed in Bagasara village for many years. However, they had no identity papers with them.  Respected Shri Devchandbhai Savaliya works in Bagasara Village. He invited us to the village to meet the families and requested us to get these 104 families their identity papers, We managed to get them the identity papers. Based on that we also got them, voter's card, Aadhar Card, caste certificate, Jan dhan bank account, ration card . Ultimately the plots were allotted and now construction of houses will begin.

The Government was very kind and allotted them the plots. The Government will also give Rs 3.50 lakhs to each family towards the cost of construction. In this regard, the Respected Chief Minister helped a lot. Whatever was still short was funded by VSSM well wisher  respected Shri Kishorebhai Patel in memory of Dear Kushalbhai. With the efforts of the Government & VSSM all the families will get permanent houses. They will move from unsheltered living into habitats of love & care.

The Ground breaking ceremony for the 104 families was performed on 10th March 2024. Respected Shri Kaushikbhai is a kind hearted soul and he remained present. He sought information of all such families  in Amreli who do not have houses so that they can be helped. MLA Shri J V Kakadiya is equally kind hearted. He affirmed that alongwith Smt Jyotsnaben, Municipal Commissioner, they will be available anytime for any help required.

The Collector Shri Kamlesh Nanda is a very soft person and he has been helping us in our various activities and also remained present. He talked about why education is so important. The mamlatdar of Bagsara, the Chief Officer and other officers all remained present on this happy occasion.

The dream of our Rameshbhai to provide houses to these families ultimately was realised. He had worked really hard on this project..We are extremely happy that we have workers like him. The leader of the community Jackybhai & others stood strongly with us to ensure the completion. 

Everyone was busy since morning for the preparatory work of the Ground breaking ceremony. All dressed in new clothes, playing garba and getting rangoli decoration done. The program got over with community lunch.

ભૂમીપૂજનનો કાર્યક્રમ..

કાર્યક્રમમાં ઉપસ્થિત મુખ્ય મહેમાન આદરણીય શ્રી કૌશિકભાઈ વેકરિયા- નાયબ દંડક શ્રીના સ્વાગત માટે નવઘણબાપાને વિનંતી કરુ એ સ્ટેજ પર આવે અને કૌશિકભાઈનું પુસ્તક અને ફુલછડીથી સ્વાગત કરે.

એક ભાઈ ટ્રેમાં પુસ્તક અને ફુલછડી લઈને આવ્યા. ફોટોગ્રાફર જે બાજુ ઊભેલા તેની વિરુદ્ધ ઊભા રહીને બાપાએ પેલાભાઈના હાથમાંથી આખી ટ્રે લઈ લીધી અને સીધે સીધી કૌશિકભાઈને ઘરી. ઉપસ્થિતિ સૌ એમને શીખવી રહ્યા હતા કે ફોટોગ્રાફર સામે જોવાનું ને થોડીવાર ઊભા રહેવાનું. ટ્રે હેઠે મુકી દ્યો ને ખાલી પુસ્તક અને ફુલછડી જ કૌશિકભાઈને આપો..

આવું જ એ પછીના મહેમાનો એટલે ધારાસભ્ય શ્રી બગસરા, નગરપાલિકાના પ્રમુખ અને અન્ય પદાધિકારીઓના સન્માન વખતે થયું. છેલ્લે એક બે વ્યક્તિઓના સન્માન વખતે અમારા પરિવારોને ખ્યાલ આવી ગયો કે ઊભવાનું ક્યાં ને ટ્રે ને નહીં અડવાનું..

વાત જરા રમૂજ જેવી લાગે.. પણ અમારા નવઘણબાપાએ કહ્યું, 'આ અમારો પેલવેલો અનુભવ અમે ક્યારેય આટલા બધા મોટા માણસોને અમારી વસાહતમાં ભાયળા નથ..'

એકદમ પવિત્ર અને સાચા માણસો.. અમરેલીનું બગસરા 104 પરિવારો વર્ષનો ઘણો ભાગ છેલ્લા કેટલા વર્ષથી બગસરામાં રહે. પણ એમની પાસે ઓળખના આધારોય ત્યાંના ન જડે.

બગસરામાં આદરણીય દેવચંદભાઈ સાવલિયા કામ કરે એમણે અમને ત્યાં આમંત્રીત કર્યા આ બધાને ઓળખાણના આધારો અપાવવા. ને પછી તો મતદારકાર્ડ, આધાર, જાતિ દાખલા. જનઘનમાં ખાતા, રેશનકાર્ડ ને છેલ્લે રહેવા પ્લોટ ફળવાયા. હવે એમના ઘરો બાંધવાનું શરૃ કરીશું.

સરકારે ખુબ લાગણી રાખી એમને પ્લોટ ફાળવ્યા. મકાન બાંધવા પણ પ્રત્યેક પરિવારને સાડા ત્રણ લાખ રૃપિયા આપશે. એ માટે આદરણીય મુખ્યમંત્રી શ્રી એ ઘણી મદદ કરી. બાંધકામમાં ખુટતા VSSM સાથે સંકળાયેલા અમારા આદરણીય કિશોરભાઈ પટેલ પ્રિય કુશલભાઈની સ્મૃતિમાં આપશે. આમ સરકાર અને સંસ્થાના પ્રયાસથી આ બધા પરિવારો વગડામાંથી વહાલપની વસાહતમાં જશે. 

104 પરિવારોને ફળવાયેલા પ્લોટ પર ભૂમીપૂજન તા. 10 માર્ચ 2024ના રોજ થયું. આદરણીય કૌશિકભાઈ એકદમ સંવેદનશીલ વ્યક્તિ. એ ખાસ ઉપસ્થિત રહ્યા ને આખા અમરેલીમાં આવા ઘરવિહોણા જેટલા પણ પરિવારો છે તેમની વિગત આપવા કહ્યું જેથી તેમને પણ ઘર આપી શકાય.  

ધારાસભ્ય શ્રી જે.વી.કાકડિયા પણ એવા જ લાગણીવાળા એમણે તેમજ નગરપાલિકાના પ્રમુખ શ્રી જ્યોત્સનાબહેને અડધી રાતે જરૃર પડે સાથે રહીશુંનું કહ્યું.

પ્રાંત કલેક્ટર શ્રી કમલેશ નંદા એકદમ ઋજુ હૃદયના અને વર્ષોથી અમારા કાર્યમાં મદદ કરે એ પણ ખાસ હાજર રહ્યા ને ભણતર કેમ જરૃરી એની વાત પરિવારોને કરી. બગસરા મામલતદાર શ્રી, ચીફઓફીસર વગેરે પદાધિકારીઓ ખાસ આ પરિવારોના હરખમાં સામેલ થયા...

અમારા કાર્યકર રમેશભાઈએ વર્ષોથી આ પરિવારોના ઘર થાય એનું સમણું સેવેલું એ સાકાર થયું. એમની મહેનત આ આખા કામમાં ખુબ... એમના જેવા કાર્યકરો અમારી સાથે છે એનો સવિશેષ આનંદ છે.. વસાહતના આગેવાન જેકીભાઈ અને અન્યો પણ આ આખા કામમાં ખડે પગે. 

સવારથી સૌ ભૂમીપૂજનની તૈયારી કરી રહ્યા હતા. સૌએ નવા કપડાં પહેર્યા. ગરબા રમ્યા. રંગોળી કરી ને ભૂમીપૂજનનો કાર્યક્રમ જમણવાર કરી સંપન્ન કર્યો. 

આ કાર્યમાં VSSM ને મદદ કરનાર સૌનો આભાર.  ગામે ગામ ઘરવિહોણા તમામ પરિવારોને ઘર મળે તેવી શુભભાવના...

Mittal Patel addresses nomadic community in Diyodar

“Building a house is once in a lifetime event, and we want to do it well,” 136 families residing in Diyodar shared their thoughts. For many years, VSSM has been trying for the allotment of residential plots for these homeless nomadic families of Diyodar.

The homeless nomadic families of Diyodar had been waiting for the allotment of residential plots for a very long time. However, it took the compassion of officers Shri Anand Patel, Collector of Banaskantha, and Shri Swapnil Khare, Banaskantha DDO, along with the hard work of VSSM’s members Naranbhai Raval and Ishwarbhai Raval, to turn the wait into reality.

The government assistance of Rs. 1.20 lacs is insufficient to build a decent house amidst this ever-increasing construction cost. The cost of recently completed homes in Gundala has come out to be Rs 3 lacs on even surfaced land while Rs. 3.55 lacs on land that needed to be leveled.

In Diyodar, we expect the cost of constructing a house with a solid roof to hold a floor above Rs 3.5 lacs. VSSM conducted a meeting with the families whose homes are to be built and conveyed that they will also need to contribute to the cost. And there was a unanimous agreement to do the needful for making a decent house.

And VSSM will also provide financial assistance to families. We plan to build one more self-contained and beautiful settlement in partnership with the government and beneficial families.

VSSM has been instrumental in building 1500 houses until now, we hope we continue to bring the joy of a home to many more nomadic families.

ઘર એક જ વખતે બને તે અમારે અમારા ઘર સરસ બાંધવા છે..

દિયોદરમાં રહેતા 136 પરિવારોએ આ કહ્યું. ઘરવિહોણા આ પરિવારોને રહેણાંક અર્થે પ્લોટ મળે તે માટે અમે વર્ષોથી મથતા પણ દિયોદરમાં મેળ પડે નહીં. 

શ્રી આનંદ પટેલ કલેક્ટર બનાસકાંઠા અને શ્રી સ્વપ્નીલ ખરે જિલ્લા વિકાસ અધિકારી બનાસકાંઠાની લાગણી વંચિત અને વિચરતી જાતિઓ માટે ખૂબ એમની લાગણથી અને અમારા કાર્યકર નારણભાઈ રાવળ અને ઈશ્વરભાઈ રાવળની મહેનતથી દિયોદરમાં રહેતા ઘરવિહોણા પરિવારો માટે જગ્યા નીમ થઈ અને તેમને પ્લોટ ફળવાયા. 

મકાન બાંધવા સરકરી સહાય 1.20 લાખ મળે પણ આટલી રકમમાં ઘર ન બંધાય. અમે ગોંડલના ગુંદાળામાં હમણાં ઘર બાંધ્યા એમાં સમતળ જમીનમાં એક ઘર બાંધવાનો અંદાજીત 3 લાખનો ખર્ચ આવ્યો. જ્યારે ખાડામાં હતા એ ઘર તો 3.55 લાખમાં થયા.

સારુ ધાબા વાળુ અને ભવિષ્યમાં બીજો માળ થઈ શકે એવું ઘર કરવું હોય તો દિયોદરમાં પણ ત્રણથી સાડા ત્રણ લાખની વચમાં ઘર બાાંધકામનો ખર્ચ થશે.

આ બાબતે જેમને પ્લોટ ફળવાયા છે તેમની સાથે મીટીંગનું આયોજન કર્યું અને તેમની લાગણી જાણી. સાથે સારુ ઘર બનાવવા તેમને પણ સહભાગી થવું પડશે તે જણાવ્યું.

સૌએ એક જ સુરે સરસ ઘર બાંધીશું અને અમે પણ પૈસા ભેગા કરી તેમાં નાખીશુંનું કહ્યું.

VSSM પણ આ પરિવારોના સરસ ઘર બંધાય તે માટે આર્થિક સહયોગ કરશે.આમ સરકાર, VSSM અને જેમના ઘર બંધાવાના છે તેમના સહયોગથી સરસ વગડામાંથી વહાલપની વસાહત નિર્માણ પામશે. 

અત્યાર સુધી 1500 પરિવારોના ઘર બાંધકામમાં અમે નિમિત્ત બન્યા છીએ. બસ વધારે પરિવારોને ઘરનું સુખ અપાવવામાં કાયમ નિમીત્ત બનીએ તેવી અભ્યર્થના...

“Our search for earning a decent living takes us to various lands; we would see beautiful homes fitted with fans, water running through taps and tell ourselves that we will never be able to stay in such homes. But look at these beautiful homes you have built for us. So how do we thank you enough?” Manjibhai Fulvadi shared his sentiments before moving into a pucca new home.

Once upon a time, the fulvadi families earned their living as snake charmers, but the occupation became obsolete with the implementation of the Wildlife Protection Act. They now wander searching for work but come back to Kakar, a village they have settled into for many years.

The government had allotted residential plots and aid to build homes to 124 Fulvadi families living in Kakar, but 187 more families did not have any land to build a house. Subsequently, 90 families were allotted plots, of which 72 families received Rs. 45000  and 18 families received Rs 1.20 lacs as an aid to building a house on it. The 72 families who had received Rs. 45 k were convinced of quality construction by a contractor who took Rs. 24,000 from each of them to give in return for inferior quality construction. The families whose money had been at stake asked him to either improve or stop construction and return the amount he had taken. However, the amount was never returned. The families were left with only Rs. 21,000, and that amount cannot build a house.

These families have known us for nine years; they requested us to help them complete the construction of their houses. Although VSSM desired to support the construction cost, it was also starting at a considerable cost as the plots 32 of these families were allotted were to incur a huge for levelling. Moreover, the surface of allotted plots was sandy; hence, it would require extra effort to build a solid foundation for the houses or else there was a fear of the structures collapsing. Therefore, we gave each of these structures a pile foundation while the rest were given a normal foundation. VSSM believes that the poor should also be able to fulfil their aspirations, so if at all they desire to build a floor above the building should be strong enough to do so. Hence, all the 90 houses have been constructed accordingly to last a lifetime.

The housewarming ceremony of these 90 families was graced by Chief Minister Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel, respected Shri Kirtisinhji Vaghela, state education minister, Shri Pradipbhai Parmar, Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, and ministers from other departments, MPs and other dignitaries also graced the occasion. The Banaskantha administration has also remained highly cooperative in making these events happen.

By choosing to remain present at the event, the Chief Minister has acknowledged the existence of these communities and honoured them. Additional, 970 families received residential plots, and 9000 individuals received benefits from government schemes. The numbers also include 87 families of Kakar who received residential plots.

More than 10,000 people from across Banaskantha remained present at the event; there were many from the neighbouring Patan district. The event venue was abuzz with activity, and the canopy was packed to the brim on this blazing summer evening, yet people were quietly standing outside.

Our Prime Minister has pledged to provide a home to each homeless family in this country; we are sure the homeless nomadic families will soon receive residential plots and aid to build a house.

'આભમાં અણી નહીં.. અમારુ કોઈ ધણી નહીં.. અમે આખુ મલક ભમીએ.. લોકોના પાક્કા ઘરો, એમાં લાઈટ, પંખા જોઈએ ત્યારે મનમાં ચમચમ થતું... પણ અમારા ભાગમાં આવુ તે કાંઈ હોય !પણ આ જુઓ તમે કેવા અસલ ઘર કરી દીધા... તમારો આભાર..બનાસકાંઠાના કાકરના ફુલવાદી મનજીભાઈએ પોતાના પાક્કાઘરમાં પ્રવશેતા પહેલાં વ્યક્ત કરેલી લાગણી...

ફુલવાદી પરિવારો સાપના ખેલ બતાવી પેટિયું રળતા પણ હવે એ બધુ નથી ચાલતુ. હવે મજૂરી અર્થે વિચરણ કરે. વર્ષો પહેલાં આ પરિવારો કાકરમાં આવીને રહેલા. 

અહીંયા 124 પરિવારોને સરકારે પ્લોટ અને પ્લોટ પર મકાન બાંધવા સહાય આપેલી. પણ 187 પરિવારો હજુ એવા હતા કે જેમની પાસે રહેવા પ્લોટ નહોતા. આ 187માંથી 90 પરિવારોને તેમણે પ્લોટ ફાળવ્યા ને એના ઉપર મકાન બાંધવા 72 પરિવારોને 45000 અને 18 પરિવારોને 1.20 લાખની સહાય કરી. જે 72 પરિવારોને 45000 સહાય કરી તે પરિવારોના ઘર બાંધી આપવાનું એક ભાઈએ કહ્યું ને એમની પાસેથી  24,000 લઈ ગયા પછી ઘરો બાંધવાનું શરૃ કર્યું પણ એની ગુણવત્તા તદન નબળી. વાદી પરિવારોએ ઘર બાંધકામ માટે ના પાડી અને પૈસા પરત માંગ્યા પણ એ ન મળ્યા. આમ તેમની પાસે 21,000 જ રહ્યા અને આટલી રકમથી ઘર ન બંધાય. 

અમે આ પરિવારોના પરિચયમાં છેલ્લા 9 વર્ષથી. એમણે અમને ઘર બાંધી આપવા વિનંતી કરી. મદદ કરવાનું મન તો થાય જ પણ ખર્ચ મોટો હતો.  32 પરિવારોના ઘર જ્યાં બાંધવાના ત્યાં જમીનમાં મોટા ખાડા. વળી જમીન પર માટી કરતા રેત વધુ. આમ પુરાણ કર્યા પછી એમ જ મકાન બાંધીએ તો ધસી પડવાનો પણ ભય રહે.  આમ 32 મકાન પુરાણ કર્યા પછી પાઈલીંગ કરી બાંધવાનું નક્કી કર્યું જેમાં મકાન જેટલું બહાર દેખાય તેટલું જ તેનું ફાઉન્ડેશન એટલે કે પાયલીંગ કર્યું અને બાકીના પાયા ખોદીને બાંધ્યા. 

ગરીબ માણસો માટેની વ્યવસ્થા ગરીબ ન હોવી જોઈએ એવું અમે માનીએ ને એટલે આ વ્યવસ્થા સાથે ભવિષ્યમાં તેઓ ઉપર પણ ઘર બાંધી શકે તે રીતે 90 મજબૂત ઘર બાંધ્યા.

90 પરિવારોને ગૃહ પ્રવેશ કરાવવા રાજ્યના મુખ્યમંત્રીશ્રી ભુપેન્દ્રભાઈ પટેલ ખાસ આવ્યા. એમની સાથે જોડાયા આદરણીય કિર્તીસીંહજી વાઘેલા - શિક્ષણ મંત્રી(રાજ્યકક્ષા), પ્રદિપભાઈ પરમાર - મંત્રી શ્રી સામાજિક ન્યાય અને અધિકારીતા. એ સિવાય પણ અન્ય વિભાગના મંત્રી શ્રી, સાંસદ સભ્ય શ્રી  વગેરે અગ્રણીઓ પણ ઉપસ્થિત રહ્યા.  બનાસકાંઠા વહીવટીતંત્રના સાનિધ્યમાં આયોજીત આ કાર્યમાં તંત્ર પણ ખડે પગે રહ્યું.

વિચરતી જાતિ ગાડલિયા, રાવળ, બજાણિયા, ફુલવાદી અને વાંસફોડા પરિવારોએ પરંપરાગત રીતે મુખ્યમંત્રી શ્રીનું સન્માન કર્યું. 

મુખ્યમંત્રીએ વિચરતી જાતિઓની વચમાં આવી આ સમુદાયને ઘણું મોટુ સન્માન આપ્યું. વળી તેમના આવવાના ઉપક્રમે 970 લોકોને રહેવા પ્લોટ ને 9000 થી વધુ લોકોને અન્ય યોજનાકીય મદદ મળી..એમાં કાકરના 87 પરિવારો જેમની પાસે ઘર નહોતા તેમને પણ પ્લોટ ફળવાઈ ગયા. 

સમગ્ર બનાસકાંઠામાંથી 10,000 લોકોએ આ કાર્યક્રમમાં ભાગીદારી નોંધાવી. પડોશી જિલ્લા પાટણમાંથી પણ લોકો આવ્યા.  કાર્યક્રમ સાંજના 4.30 વાગ્યાનો. મંડપમાં ઊભા રહેવા જગ્યા નહોતી છતાં લોકો ધોમધખતા તાપમાં મંડપ બહાર પણ શાંતિથી ઊભા રહ્યા... 

લખ્યું એ બધુયે ફોટોમાં.. હાલમાં આ પરિવારો વગડામાં રહે તે અને ત્યાંથી એમની વહાલપની વસાહત જશે તે.. 

દેશના વડાપ્રધાન શ્રી આદરણીય નરેન્દ્રભાઈ મોદીએ ઘરવિહોણા પરિવારોને ઘર આપવાનું સ્વપ્ન સેવ્યુ છે. અમને વિશ્વાસ છે વિચરતી જાતિના અને ઘરવિહોણા પરિવારોને ઘર મળશે એવું...

આભાર સરકાર, બનાસકાંઠા વહીવટીતંત્ર તેમજ VSSM સાથે સંકળાયેલા શુભેચ્છક સ્વજનોનો.. તમારા સૌની મદદથી આ પરિવારો માટે ઘર બન્યા. અમારા આમંત્રણને માન આપી આવેલા વિચરતી જાતિના પ્રિયજનોનો પણ ખુબ આભાર..

જેમના ઘર બન્યા તે પરિવારોને નવા ઘરમાં કુદરત બરકત આપે તેવી શુભભાવના...
