 Mere imitation does not lead to true devotion. Such superficial devotion never deeply influences one’s life. Just like a snake sheds its skin from time to time, some people only remember God or show devotion during times of crisis, but such calls are never truly heard.

However, God does take care of those who continuously chant His name even in pain and hardship. Yes, trials still come, but the awareness that God is with them helps them endure.

Today, a beautiful reason came up to talk about the essence of devotion. The village of Dungarpur near Kheda. There lives Jinadada with his family. He has two sons—Pratapbhai, who is mentally sound, and the other son who is mentally challenged. He just wanders around the village, while Pratapbhai does odd jobs to run the household.

Years ago, Jinadada had built a house out of mud. But over time, the house deteriorated. Pratapbhai, busy earning daily wages just to make ends meet, couldn't even think about building a proper house.

He has a daughter named Shilpa, who studied up to 9th grade and is now of marriageable age. During monsoons, the house roof leaks badly, which makes living difficult. In such circumstances, Pratapbhai and Jinadada would turn to their devotion—worshipping Shyamaliya and Dashama.

Their devotion was sincere, and that’s perhaps why Dajibhai from the village school happened to visit them. Seeing their condition, he felt that this family should have a proper home. However, he did not have the means to help directly. But he said, “I’ve written a note to Krishna to build Jinadada’s house,” and through Parasbhai of Gutal, the idea was born, and we decided to build the house.

Respected Pravinbhai Shah, who has been supporting our efforts for years, had come from the UK to see our work. During his visit, we discussed building Jinadada’s house, and he immediately agreed to help.

Respected Pravinbhai and his family have been supporting our educational work for years. They also feel strongly about building homes for underprivileged families. With their help, House No. 1765 was built.

Our volunteer, Rajnibhai, stood firm and ensured the house was completed. Today, the family placed a water pot in the new home—a traditional sign of a home becoming complete.

We extend our heartfelt wishes that Jinadada and his family live happily in their new home.

દેખાદેખીથી ભક્તિ ન થાય. આવી ભક્તિનો રંગ જીવનમાં ક્યારેય ઊંડો ન ઉતરે. પેલું સાપ વખતો વખત કાંચળી ઉતારે એવી રીતે સંકટ આવે ત્યારે ભક્તિ કરે કે ભગવાનને સાદ કરે, એ સાદ ક્યાંય સંભળાતો નથી.

પણ તકલીફમાં - પીડામાં પણ રામનું નામ સતત રટ્યા કરનારનું ભગવાન ધ્યાન રાખે છે. હા કસોટી તો ત્યાંય થાય પણ ઈશ્વર સાથે છે એ વાતથી એ ટકી જાય.

ભક્તિરસની વાત કરવાનું આજે એક મજાનું કારણ સામે આવ્યું. ખેડાનું ડુંગરપુર ગામ. ત્યાં ઝીણાદાદા તેમના પરિવાર સાથે રહે. બે દિકરા એમાંના પ્રતાપભાઈ સાજા નરવા ને બીજા માનસીક દિવ્યાંગ. એ બસ ગામમાં ફર્યા કરે. જ્યારે પ્રતાપભાઈ છુટક મજૂરી કરી ઘરનું પુરુ કરે. 

ઝીણાદાદાએ વર્ષો પહેલા માટીમાંથી ઘર બનાવેલું. પણ એ ઘર સમય જતા જર્જરીત થયું. પ્રતાપભાઈ મજૂરી કરે ને ઘરનું પૂરું કરે આવામાં પોતાનું ઘર એ પણ પાક્કુ કરવાનો વિચાર ક્યાંથી આવે?

એમને એક દિકરી શિલ્પા. નવ ધો. ભણી હવે એને પરણાવવાની. વળી ચોમાસામાં ઘરની સરખી છત નહીં એટલે સખત પાણી પડે. આવી સ્થિતિમાં પ્રતાપભાઈ ને ઝીણાદાદા શ્યામળિયા ને તેમજ દશામાને ભજ્યા કરે.

એમની ભક્તિ સાચી હતી એટલે ગામની શાળાના દાજીભાઈ એમના ત્યાં અનાયાસે પહોંચ્યા. સ્થિતિ જોઈને દાજીભાઈને આ પરિવારનું ઘર બને તો સારુ એવી લાગણી થઈ. પણ એમની પાસે એવી સગવડ નહીં. પણ દાજીભાઈ કહે મે કૃષ્ણને હૂંડી લખી ઝીણા દાદાનું ઘર કરવા ને ગુતાલના  પારસ ભાઈના માધ્યમથી અમને આ ખ્યાલ આવ્યો ને અમે દાદાનું ઘર કરવાનું નક્કી કર્યું.

અમારા કાર્યોમાં વર્ષોથી મદદ કરતા આદરણીય પ્રવિણભાઈ શાહ યુકેથી અમારા કામો જોવા આવેલા. એ દરમ્યાન એમની સાથે દાદાનું ઘર બાંધવા વાત કરીને એમણે તુરત મદદ માટે હા પાડી. 

આદરણીય પ્રવિણભાઈ અને તેમનો પરિવાર વર્ષોથી અમારા શિક્ષણ કાર્યમાં મદદ કરે.તેમની લાગણી વંચિત પરિવારોના ઘર બાંધવાની. બસ એમની મદદથી આ 1765 નંબરનું ઘર બંધાયું.

 "What do you mean by 'if a house is built, then it will bring happiness'?"

I asked some of the women from the 104 families whose houses we are building in Bagasara, Amreli. In response, they all laughed together and said, "What do you mean by happiness? In the rainy season, there used to be worries about getting soaked and having to gather the grains. At times, when we had to put our daughters to sleep, we felt anxious about leaving them alone at home... but now, this house will be built, and that’s happiness. Now, do you understand what happiness is?"

I smiled and said yes... but I really like all of this.

A simple-hearted person will say what's in their mind without any pretense.

The VSSM project aims to build homes for thousands of families who are homeless. We are continuously working on this. If the government provides land to these homeless families who have been struggling for generations, we can complete this project very quickly.

In 2025, we plan to build 500 homes. We hope the government doesn’t create any obstacles in providing plots...

The families whose houses are being built in Bagasara are happy, and seeing them, we are happy too.

With the help of the government’s Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and the remaining assistance from our esteemed Kishore uncle’s beloved Kushalbhai’s memory, beautiful homes are being built for these 104 families.

These families have truly dug out their roots... Watching their lovely homes being built fills our hearts with joy.

May God always be the cause for such good deeds to happen.

"ઘર થશે તો હખ થઈ જશે એવું તમે ક્યો તે આ હખની વ્યાખ્યા શું?"

અમરેલીના બગસરામાં જેમના ઘરો અમે બાંધી રહ્યા છીએ તેમાંના 104 પરિવારોમાંથી કેટલાક બહેનોને મે પુછ્યું. જવાબમાં બધા એક સાથે હસ્યા ને કહ્યું, "લો હખ નથ ખબર? ચોમાસુ બેહે ને મીણિયું લેવું પડશેની ચિંતા થવા માંડતી, દિકરીઓને બારા ઊંઘાડતા કે ઘરે એકલી મુકી જાતા બીક લાગતી.. આ બધી વાતનું આ ઘર બંધાશે એટલે હખ થઈ જશે. હવે હખ હમજાયું?"

મે હસીને હા પાડી... પણ અમને આ બધા ખૂબ ગમે. 

ભોળા મનના માનવી મનમાં હોય એ જરાય આડંબર વગર કહી દે..

VSSM નો પ્રકલ્પ ઘર વિહોણા હજારો પરિવારોના ઘર બાંધવાનો. અમે એ માટે સતત મથ્યા કરીએ.. સરકાર ઘરવિહોણા અને સદીઓથી વગડો ખૂંદતા પરિવારોને જમીન આપે તો આ પ્રકલ્પ અમે ઝટ પૂરો કરી શકીએ.

વર્ષ 2025 માં 500 ઘર બાંધવા છે. સરકાર પ્લોટ આપવામાં  ખટકો રાખે એવું ઈચ્છીએ છીએ...

બગસરામાં જેમના ઘર બંધાઈ રહ્યા છે એ પરિવારો તો રાજી રાજી.. ને એમને જોઈને અમે પણ..

સરકારની પ્રધાન મંત્રી આવાસ યોજનામાં સહાય તેમજ અમારા આદરણીય કિશોર અંકલની પ્રિય કુશલભાઈની સ્મૃતિમાંથી બાકીની મદદથી 104 પરિવારોના સરસ ઘર બંધાઈ રહ્યા છે.

આ પરિવારોએ ખરેખર વગડો  ખૂંદયો છે.. એમની વ્હાલપની વસાહત બનતી જોઈને મન હરખાય છે..

કુદરત આવા અનેક શુભ કાર્યોમાં સદાય નિમિત્ત બનાવે તેવી શુભભાવના...

“I dreamt of my last rites in courtyard of my home. You have fulfilled my only shadowed desire. May you be blessed 100 years and make you instrumental for millions of other stranded people like us who yearned home once-and-for-all. I request you to help them, too.” Saying this Bhikhibaa from Raigadh Village of Himmatnagar Block in Sabarkantha District blessed me with her both hands on my head.

I prayed thy almighty to make this blessing of Bhikhibaa true as I game my regards to her folding my hands in obeisance. My temptation here is to reach more-and-more people and to make their lives better in all respects. Otherwise, personally, the divine has bestowed abundant wealth for which we have nothing but to express heart-felt gratitude.

Bhartharis’ with Ravanhattha in their hands roam from village-to-village singing Lullaby and Bhajans. When they sing lullabies from home-to-home, people gift them food grains and saris as token of appreciation. The unusable saris go to decorate their shelters while the rest are used by the women of their families. We always say that such shelters do not hold back cold, heat and/or rain. Gradually, they started using tarpaulin sheets instead of these saris for their shelters but even how could they provide protection against winters, Summers and Monsoons. In fact, the situation during the monsoons get worse. They say, “Black caterpillars come out in large numbers during the monsoon. Many a times, they get stuck in flour, cooked meals or on the roofs and we have to throw away the cooked food.”

The entire Bharthari community is very timid. They never fall in any conflict with anyone not even to raise their voice for their own rights. There is a constant fear that they will be casted away from the village if they questioned for their rights. There is a sizable population of this community in Gujarat. We made special and dedicated efforts to give all these families identity and we succeeded in it too. But, the question of permanent address was unaddressed. They needed a place they can call their home. Raigad Gram Panchayat showed its willingness and readiness to allot residential plots to some 06 Bharthari families. The Collector allotted _____ size plots and the Department of Developing Caste Welfare released ₹ 1.20 Lakhs House Construction Grant to these families. They have also received ₹ 12,000.00 incentive under Swachchh Bharat Mission (Gramin) for construction of Sanitation Unit. In sum, the families received ₹ 1.32 Lakh from the Government as construction support. But in concurrent dearness, even this support amount is not sufficient to build a home. Moreover, they needed home with two rooms, a toilet and a bathroom.

Our Dear and Respected Shri Nitinbhai Sumant Shah - The Founder of Heart Foundation and Research Institute (HFRI) and long-term well-wisher of VSSM – donated to the missing balance. Shri Chetanbhai - ALAKHS Family donated doors as a gift and thus, these 06 families became owners of their home. Shri Nitinbhai and Smt. Shri V. D. Zalaji – the MLA of Himmatnagar – came specially to grace the occasion of House Warming Ceremony and welcome these families into their new homes. Shri Manojbhai Soni and Shri Inderbhai Modi – the well-wishers and close associates of VSSM – also graced the occasion. The Sarpanch, the Deputy Sarpanch, Members of the Panchayat, the Talati and all those working at Panchayat remained present too.

A special mention is required for Tohid – the Field Coordinator of the region – who worked real-hard at the backdrop of everything that these families are realizing – from getting citizenry documents to becoming permanent homeowners. He is the true force behind all this to happen. Now, Maheshbhai has also joined him and assist him field worker. It fills us with great pride to have dedicated people in the team like Tohid. Many such settlements develop from our hands is the only wish we have. We pray the divine that we keep on inviting you all – the donors and the well-wishers of VSSM – to grace such occasions of House Warming Celebrations several times a month.

"મારો ચોકો મારા ઘરના ઓગણામો થાય એવી આશા રાખીતી. તમે મારી આસા પુરી કીધી. ભગવોન તમન હો વર(વર્ષ)ના કર અન અમારી ઓતેડી તમે ઠારી એવી અમારા જેવી બીજા ગરીબ ગરબોની પણ ઠારજો."

આવું કહીને સાબરકાંઠાના રાયગઢગામના ભીખીબાએ માથે હાથ મુક્યો. ભીખીબાને વંદન કરીને તેમના આશિર્વાદ ફળે એવું ભગવાનને મનોમન કહ્યું. આમાં લાલચ વધુ લોકોના જીવનને સાતા પહોંચાડવાની.. બાકી વ્યક્તિગત રીતે તો કુદરતે ખૂબ આપ્યું અને એ માટે તો બસ આભાર જ વ્યક્ત કરવાનો.. ભરથરી પરિવારો રાવણહથ્થો લઈને ગામે ગામે હાલરડા અને ભજનો ગાવા ફરતા રહે. લોકોના ઘરે જઈને ભજન કે હાલરડા ગાય એટલે લોકો ભેટમાં અનાજ અને સાડીઓ આપે. આ સાડીઓની આડાશો કરીને એ પોતાના ઘર બાંધે. અમે હંમેશા કહીએ આ ઘરમાં ટાઢ, તડકો અને વરસાદ ન રોકાય. ધીમે ધીમે પ્લાસ્ટીકના મીણિયાથી ઝૂંપડા બંધાવવા માંડ્યા. પણ પ્લાસ્ટીક પણ સુરક્ષા તો નથી જ આપતું. 

ચોમાસામાં દશા તો સખત માઠી થાય. એ લોકો કહે, કાળી ઈયળ ચોમાસામાં ખુબ નીકળે ઘણી વખત એ લોટ બંધાતો હોય એમાં કે રાંધેલા ખોરાકમાં પણ છાપરા ઉપર ચડી હોય તે ઈયળ ઘણી વખત પડે ને અમારે રાંધેલું ફેંકી દેવું પડે. ભરથરી સમાજ આખો આમ બહુ ભીરુ. કોઈ સામે ઝઘડો તો ક્યારેય ન કરે. પોતાના અધિકાર માટે અવાજ પણ ન ઉઠાવે. જો કશું બોલશું ને ગામ કાઢી મુકશે નો ભય એમને હંમેશા લાગે. ગુજરાતમાં આ પરિવારોની વસતિ પણ ઘણી. 

અમે આ બધાને ઓળખ અપાવવા મથ્યા. હવે ઓળખાણના આધારો તો બન્યા. પણ જરૃર હતી ઘરની. રાયગઢ ગ્રામપંચાયતે છ ભરથરી પરિવારોને પ્લોટ આપવાની તૈયારી દર્શાવી. કલેક્ટર શ્રીએ પ્લોટ ફાળવ્યા ને વિકસતી જાતિ કલ્યાણખાતાએ 1.20 લાખ મકાન બાંધવા આપ્યા. શૌચાલય માટે પણ 12,000 મળ્યા. ટૂંકમાં 1.32 લાખ મળ્યા. પણ આજની મોંધવારીમાં આટલી રકમમાંથી ઘર ન થાય. વળી ઘર તો બે રૃમ, ટોયલેટ બાથરૃમ સાથેના જોઈતા હતા. 

VSSM સાથે સંકળાયેલા અમારા પ્રિયજન આદરણીય શ્રી નિતીનભાઈ સુમંત શાહ - હાર્ટ એન્ડ રીસર્ચ ફાઉન્ડેશનના પ્રરેણાતાએ ખૂટતા ઉમેર્યા. ALAKHS Family - શ્રી ચેતનભાઈએ દરવાજા ભેટ રૃપે મોકલી આપ્યા ને છ ભરથરી પરિવારો ઘરવાળા થયા. નિતીનભાઈ અને પ્રતિક્ષાબેનની લાગણી VSSM ના દરેક કાર્યમાં એટલે એ બનતી મદદ હંમેશા કરે. તેમના અમે આભારી છીએ. જ્યારે ચેતનભાઈએ પણ ત્રણ વસાહતોમાં બંધાયેલા ઘર માટે દરવાજા મોકલી આપ્યા. આપ સૌ પ્રત્યે કૃતજ્ઞતા...

આ પરિવારોને ગૃહપ્રવેશ કરાવવા હિંમતનગરના ધારાસભ્ય શ્રી વી. ડી. ઝાલા ખાસ પધાર્યા. એમની સાથે VSSM સાથે સંકળાયેલા સ્નેહીજન શ્રી મનોજભાઈ સોની તેમજ ઈન્દ્રભાઈ મોદી પણ આવ્યા. રાયગઢના સરપંચ, ઉપસરપંચ શ્રી તેમજ પંચાયતના સદસ્યો, તલાટી શ્રી તેમજ પંચાયતમાં કામ કરતા અન્ય કર્મચારી પણ ખાસ ઉપસ્થિત રહ્યા. અમારા કાર્યકર તોહીદભાઈની આ આખા કામમાં જબરી મહેનત. બધા પરિવારોને ઓળખાણના આધારો અપાવવાથી લઈને સૌ પાક્કા ઘરવાળા થાય એ માટે સતત એમણે સતત દોડાદોડી કરી. હવે એમની સાથે મહેશભાઈ પણ કાર્યકર તરીકે જોડાયા. તોહીદભાઈ જેવા સંનિષ્ઠ કાર્યકરો અમારી સાથે હોવાનું ગર્વ..

વગડામાંથી વહાલપની આવી અનેક વસાહતો બનતી જાય. મહિનામાં અનેક વખતે આમંત્રણ કાર્ડ થકી આવી વસાહતોમાં પરિવારોનો ગૃહપ્રવેશ કરાવવા આપ સૌને લખતા રહીએ એવું થાય એ માટે કુદરતને પ્રાર્થના..

We have been instrumental in building homes for 1600 families.

This figure of 1600 is inconsequential considering that there are millions of homeless people in this world. However, we are happy to have done our bit with the help of several well wishers. Moreover we have not stopped at 1600.  In Raigadh village of Sabarkantha we are building  No. 1601 to No.1606 homes. In this endeavour we were helped by Shri Nitin Sumant Shah of Heart Foundation & Research Institute. A very large hearted person, he helps us in various ways apart from house construction.

Seeing their houses getting constructed, Bharthari families were extremely happy. Government provides subsidies of Rs 1.20 lakh per house. The Bharthari families also took loans and gave us money and the balance was contributed by Shri Nitinbhai. Thus with the joint efforts, we could provide homes for the families which have since centuries been nomads and have never ever stayed in properly constructed homes.  Ugarkaka, an elderly from the Bharthari community, said several people asked as to how we could manage to construct such houses when we have spent our lives singing hymns and rhymes ? How did we get so much money ? Ugarkaka laughed and said "we built such houses which gave us pride. Those who have nobody, God is with them"

We are thankful to the Government, Panchayat and respected shri Nitinbhai. They all had kind feelings which made this possible.

We pray to God that we continue to add more to 1600 and also keep on adding more well wishers in our mission. 

 અમે 1600 પરિવારોના ઘરો બાંધવામાં નિમિત્ત બન્યા..

આ આંકડો આ જગતમાં રહેતા ઘર વિહોણાની સંખ્યામાં કીડીના પગ જેટલો. પણ આ નાનકડું કામ VSSM સાથે સંકળાયેલા સ્વજનો મારફત કરી શક્યાનો હરખ.

વળી 1600થી અમે અટક્યા નથી. સાબરકાંઠાનું રાયગઢ ત્યાં 1601 થી લઈને 1606 નંબરનું ઘર બાંધી રહ્યા છીએ. એમાં મદદ કરી હાર્ટ ફાઉન્ડેશન એન્ડ રીસર્ચ ઈન્સ્ટીટ્યુટના શ્રી નિતીન સુમંત શાહે.. એકદમ દરિયાદીલ વ્યક્તિ. અમને ઘર બાંધકામ સિવાય પણ અન્ય કામોમાં મદદ કરે. 

ઘર બંધાતા જોઈને ભરથરી પરિવારો તો રાજી રાજી. ઘર બાંધકામમાં સરકારે 1.20 લાખની મદદ કરી. ઉપરાંત આ પરિવારોએ પણ અમારી પાસેથી લોન લઈને એક રકમ ઉમેરી બાકીની નીતિનભાઈએ આપી. 

આમ સહિયારા પ્રયાસથી સદીઓથી રઝળપાટ કરનાર અને કદીએ પાક્કા ઘરમાં ન રહેલા પરિવારોના ઘર બંધાવાના શરૃ થયા.

ઉગરાકાકા કહે, 'અમારા ઘર બંધાતા જોઈને ગામના ઘણાએ કહ્યું, અલ્યા તમે તો હાલરડાં ને ભજનો ગાનારા તમારી પાહે આવા અસલ ઘર બાંધવા આટલા બધા પૈસા ક્યાંથી આવ્યા?' આટલુ કહી ઉગરાકાકા હસ્યા. પછી પાછુ કહ્યું, 'વટ પડી જાય એવા ઘર બાંધ્યા. જેનું કોઈ નથી એના ભગવાન તો છે ને?' 

સરકાર, પંચાયત અને આદરણીય નીતિનભાઈના અમે આભારી. આ બધાની લાગણી હતી એટલે આ કામ થયું.

બસ 1606 થી આગળ આંકડા લખ્યા કરીએ એવી રીતે સૌને સાથે જોડવા ઈશ્વરને પ્રાર્થના...

A place that bursts with thousand emotions, but a mere mention of this word calms our tired soul!

Due to the professions, they practiced, the nomadic communities were always required to lead an itinerant lifestyle. VSSM has endeavored to ensure these families receive plots to build the house of their dreams. The families receive government aid of Rs. 1.20 lacs to make their home, but more is needed to construct a long-lasting house. Hence, VSSM supplements the balance required to build a house that families can use for a generation or two. Until now, VSSM has been instrumental in the construction of 1500 houses. 

After years of follow-up and appeals, 13 families in Banaskantha’s Talav received residential plots due to the compassionate approach of its DDO and the sentiments of its TDO, Shri Jay Goswami in particular. He is very keen that the houses of these families, as accomplished at the earliest, have made a small donation and reached out to meet them whenever he finds time. When explaining the nitty-gritty to the families, he takes up the role of our team members. I wish we had more officers like him, it would help us accomplish much more.

Talav village’s Sarpanch Shri Pravinbhai is a very humble human who wholeheartedly supports our work and has a sensitive approach toward the challenges of these families. He also played an essential role in ensuring these families received residential plots. 

The families will receive Rs. 1.20 lacs as an aid for the construction of the house and Rs. 12000 for building a toilet unit. Whereas the estimated cost of construction of each house, as per the design we execute, is estimated to be Rs. 2.32 lacs which excludes constructing a bathroom that we plan to include in the construction plan. VSSM will supplement the required amount.

Our long-time patron, Mumbai-based respected Shri Dharmenbhai Shah, has agreed to support the construction of these houses.

Everyone dreams of a decent house; if the government and the advantaged sections of society decide to coordinate, it will help many families realize their dream of a home.

VSSM aims to build 500 houses in the year 2023-24. This target would be easily achievable if we receive support from our well-wishers and the government through speedy clearances of pending files by the government. 

We wish happiness to the families of Talav as they move to a new phase of their lives and gratitude to everyone who has supported this cause.

આ શબ્દ બોલતા જ હળવાશ અનુભવાય. 

સદીઓથી જેમણે રઝળપાટ કર્યો છે. જેમના માટે ઘર સ્વપ્ન સમાન છે એવા વિચરતીજાતિના પરિવારોને રહેણાંક અર્થે પ્લોટ મળે ને પ્લોટ પર ઘર બંધાય તે માટે અમે મથીયે. 

સરકારી સહાય ઘર બાંધવા મળે પણ 1.20 લાખમાં ધર ન બંધાય આવામાં પરિવારોની સ્થિતિ જોઈને ઘર બાંધકામ માટે અમે પૈસા ઉમેરીયે.

અત્યાર સુધી 1500 ઘર બાંધવામાં અમે નિમિત્ત બન્યા. 

બનાસકાંઠાનું ટડાવ ત્યા 13 પરિવારોને બનાસકાંઠા ડીડીઓ શ્રી અને ખાસ કરીને ટીડીઓ શ્રી જય ગોસ્વામીની ખાસ લાગણીના લીધે વર્ષોની રજૂઆત પછી પ્લોટ ફળવાયા. આ પરિવારોના ઘર બંધાય તે માટે જયભાઈ ખુબ રસ લે. એમણે પોતે ઘર બાંધકામમાં નાનકડુ અનુદાન આપ્યું અને એમને જ્યારે સમય મળે ત્યારે આ પરિવારોની વચ્ચે પહોંચી જાય. જ્યાં પરિવારોની સમજણના સવાલ આવે ત્યાં અદ્લ અમારા કાર્યકરની જેમ એમને સમજાવે. આવા અધિકારી દરેક ઠેકાણે મળી જાય તો કેવા સુંદર કામો થાય. ખેર જયભાઈ જેવા જ ટડાવના સરપંચ શ્રી પ્રવિણભાઈ પણ.. આ પરિવારો માટે ને અમારા કાર્યો માટે ખુબ લાગણી રાખે. એમનો ફાળો પણ આ પરિવારોને પ્લોટ આપવામાં મહત્વનો... 

સરકારે આપેલા 1.20 લાખ સિવાય શૌચાલયના 12,000 મળશે. પણ અમે જે ઘર બાંધવાનું નક્કી કર્યું તેનો અંદાજ આવ્યો. 2.32 લાખ. જો બાથરૃમ કરીએ તો અંદાજ વધે. પણ એ કરીશું. ને ખૂટતી રકમ અમે ઉમેરીશું.

મુંબઈમાં રહેતા આદરણીય ધર્મેનભાઈ શાહ વર્ષોથી અમારા કાર્યોમાં સહયોગ કરે તે આ કાર્યમાં તેઓ મદદ કરશે. 

ઘર દરેક વ્યક્તિનું સમણું. આમાં સમાજમાં બેઠેલા જેમને ભગવાને ઘણું આપ્યું છે એ લોકો અને સરકારની સહાય આ બેયનું અનુકુલન થઈ જાય તો ઘણા પરિવારોના ઘર થઈ જાય... 

2023-24માં 500 ઘરો બાંધવાનો લક્ષાંક છે. બસ સમાજ તરીકે તમે સૌ આ કાર્યમાં સાથે આવો. સાથે સરકાર પણ આ પરિવારોને પ્લોટ તેમજ ઘર બાંધવા સમયસર સહાય આપે તો આ કાર્ય ઝડપથી થાય. 

ટડાવના પરિવારો નવા ઘરમાં સુખી થાય તેવી શુભભાવના ને આ કાર્યમાં મદદ કરનાર સૌ સ્વજનોનો આભાર..

“Our generations have spent their lives wandering in these carts. Our settlements are away from the village, devoid of basic infrastructural facilities. Drinking water needs to be fetched from a distance; even our hair has withered away from the scalp due to lugging water pots from a distance. There is no electricity, so monsoons become particularly difficult when scorpions and snakes roam wild on the ground. It is dangerous to even step off the bed at night.”

Bhavnaben and Bhupatbhai Gadaliya living in Chrdava village of Morbi’s Halvad block, shared their plight. The duo and other 27 Gadaliya families like them wander to earn their living as ironsmiths and bullock traders. In these evolving times, the need for such professional skills has diminished, and these families must look for options to lead a settled life. The 27 Gadaliya families live in a settlement in Chrdava on a government wasteland.

VSSM strives to ensure the nomadic, denotified, and marginalized communities enjoy their fundamental human rights; part of those efforts is to help these homeless families move into their own houses. VSSM presented the case of Chrdava families to the district collector of Morbi and ensured they were allotted residential plots.

The Chrdava Gram Panchayat is one of those rare panchayats that have agreed to allow these families to settle in their village.

Once the plots are allotted, these low-income families struggle to build decent houses with the government aid they receive. However, with. the current construction rates, making the 2BHK house of their dreams with Rs. 1.20 lacs for house building and Rs. 12,000 for sanitation unit aid is impossible for these families. “Building a house is once in a lifetime phenomenon, and we wish to build a strong one; give us a loan we will gradually repay it,”  the families request some help.

VSSM intends to offer a loan of Rs. 1 lac and one-time support of Rs. 1.25 lacs to each family to equip them to build the house of their aspirations.

Neojan Chemical Ltd Co. will help VSSM support these families to construct houses. Respected Binabahen Kanani and Shri Harishbhai Kanani are very dear to us. In fact, I address Binabahen as Maa. They adore our work hence, decided to help us with this need. We have decided to name the upcoming  Gadaliya colony -  Neojan Nagar.

On 20th  January 2023, a ground-breaking ceremony was organized, and local MLA Shri Prakashabhai Varmora remained present and showered his best wishes to the families. The panchayat members also remained present at the occasion. Construction for 21 houses has commenced; once the remaining six families receive their documents for plots, the construction for their homes will also begin.

Prime Minister Shir Narendrabhai Modi has pledged to provide a pucca house to each homeless family; however, the budget allocated by the government isn’t enough. In such circumstances, if corporates like Neojan Chemicals and wealthy individuals come forward and donate generously, we can build houses for many homeless families.  

VSSM has decided to build 500 houses in 2023-24; I request you all to contribute with an open heart.

Our gratitude to the generosity of Neojan Chemicals, whose help will enable Gadaliya families to move into their cherished abodes.

"આ ગાડા પર ભમતા ભમતા અમારી પેઢીઓ ગઈ. જ્યાં ડંગા નાખીયે ત્યાં આજુબાજુમાં પાણીયે નો મળે. આખી જીંદગી માટલા ઉપાડી ઉપાડીને અમારા ટાલકામાંથી વાળેય ખરી ગ્યા. લાઈટો અમારા છાપરાંમાં ક્યાં જડે? ચોમાસામાં તો બઉયે બીક લાગે. સાપ,વીંછી, એરુ આંયા નીચે જ રખડે એટલે ખાટલામાંથી હેઠે પગ મુકતા બીક લાગે. બહુ વિપદા પડે.."

મોરબીના હળવદના ચરાડવામાં રહેતા ભાવનાબહેન અને ભૂપતભાઈ ગાડલિયાયે આ બધી વાતો કરી. લોખંડમાંથી ઓજારો બનાવવાનું, બળદો વેચવાનું કામ એ ને એમના જેવા અન્ય 27 ગાડલિયા પરિવારો કરતા ને એ માટે ભ્ર્મણ કર્યા કરે. પણ હવે જમાનો બદલાયો વિચરણનો અર્થ ન રહ્યો. છેલ્લા ઘણા વર્ષોથી આ બધા પરિવારો ચરાડવામાં સ્થાયી થયા. પણ કાયમી જમીન એમને ન મળે.

અમે વિચરતી વિમુક્ત જાતિઓ તેમજ અન્ય વંચિત સમુદાયોને માણસ તરીકેના તમામ અધિકારો મળે તે માટે પ્રયત્નો કરીએ. સાથે જમીન વિહોણા પરિવારોને રહેવા પ્લોટ મળે તે રજૂઆત પણ કરીયે. ચરાડવાના આ પરિવારોની વાત પણ કલેક્ટર શ્રી મોરબી પાસે કરી અને તેમને પ્લોટ ફાળવાયા.

ચરડાવાની પંચાયત પણ ખુબ સારી. આવી પંચાયતો જૂજ છે જે સામેથી વિચરતી જાતિના પરિવારોને પોતાના ગામમાં અપનાવવા રાજી થાય.

ખેર પ્લોટ મળ્યા પછી વાત આવી મકાન બાંધવાની. આર્થિક સ્થિતિ આ પરિવારોની મોળી. વળી 1.20 લાખ મકાન બાંધકામના મળે ને શૌચાલયના 12,000. આમાં કાંઈ જોઈએ એવું ઘર ન બને. 

વળી આ પરિવારોને બે રૃમ રસોડાનું ઘર બંધાય તેવી હોંશ. એમણે કહ્યું તમે મદદ કરો એ સિવાય અમને લોન આપો જે અમે ધીમે ધીમે ભરી દઈશું. પણ ઘર એક વખત થાય. અમારે મજબૂત ઘર કરવું છે.

કેવી ઉત્તમ ભાવના. 1 લાખની લોન અમે એમને આપીશું. એ સિવાય લગભગ 1.25 લાખની મદદ પ્રત્યેક ઘર દીઠ કરીશું જેથી એમનું સુંદર મજાનું, એમની કલ્પના મુજબનું ઘર થાય.

VSSM ને આ પરિવારોના ઘર બાંધકામ માટે નિયોજન કેમીકલ લી. કંપની મદદ કરશે. આદરણીય શ્રી બીનાબહેન કાનાણી અને શ્રી હરીશભાઈ કાનાણી આ બેઉ પ્રિયજન. બીનાબહેનને તો હું મા કહુ. એમને અમે જે કાર્યો કરીએ એ ખુબ ગમે. એટલે એમણે મદદ કરી. તે બસ આ ગાડલિયા પરિવારોનું નગર બનશે તેને નિયોજન નગર નામ આપીશું. 

તા.20 જાન્યુઆરીના રોજ નિયોજન નગરના ભૂમીપૂજનનો કાર્યક્રમ આયોજીત કર્યો. જેમાં સ્થાનીક ધારાસભ્ય શ્રી પ્રકાશભાઈ વરમોરા હાજર રહ્યા તેમણે આ પરિવારોને ઘણી શુભેચ્છા આપી. આ સિવાય પંચાયતના સદસ્યો પણ હાજર રહ્યા. 27માંથી 21 પરિવારોના ઘરોનું બાંધકામ શરૃ કર્યું. બાકીના છ પરિવારોને હજુ પ્લોટની સનદ મળવાની બાકી છે એ મળે એટલે એમના ઘરો પણ બાંધીશું. 

નિયોજન કેમીકલ લી. ની જેમ અન્ય કંપનીઓ પણ સાથે આવીને ઊભી રહે તો કેટલાય ઘરવિહોણા પરિવારોના ઘર બની જાય. 

વડાપ્રધાન શ્રી નરેન્દ્રભાઈ મોદીએ પણ તમામ ઘરવિહોણા પરિવારોને ઘર આપવાનું સ્વપ્ન સેવ્યું. સરકાર એ માટે બજેટ પણ ફાળવે પણ એ પુરતુ નથી આવામાં જુદા જુદા કોર્પોરેટ એવા લોકો કે જેમને ઈશ્વરે ઘણું આપ્યું છે એ લોકો આગળ આવે તો આવા ઘણા પરિવારોના ઘર બાંધવાનું કરી શકાય.

2023-24માં 500 ઘરો બાંધવાનો સંકલ્પ છે. આ સંકલ્પને પૂર્ણ કરવા વ્યક્તિગત રીતે અને કંપનીને રૃએ સૌને જોડાવવા વિનતી કરુ છું.

બાકી ચરાડવાના આ ગાડલિયા પરિવારો હવે વગડામાંથી વહાલપની વસાહતમાં જશે.

VSSM એ અત્યાર સુધી 1500 પરિવારોના ઘર બાંધ્યા. હજુ વધુ બાંધવાની નેમ છે. નિયોજન કેમીકલ લી.નો ઘણો આભાર ને અન્યોને જોડાવવા આહવાન..

“We had no house to stay in and no bed to sleep in, we survived under such pathetic conditions, but you showed us the dream of a house, and now we have a bungalow of our own,”

Khedapji Salat from Virendragadh in Surendranagar’s Dhrangadhra has been allotted a plot, and the construction of his house is underway.

The traditional occupation of Salat community was to sell and maintain the stones of manual flour mills. However, electric flour mills have replaced the conventional manual flour mills; the community has lost their occupation. Members of the community are now engaged in selling blankets, bedsheets, and other items for household needs. And need to migrate for the same.

These 15 Salat families have spent their monsoons Dhrangadhra for years (the rest of the months they travel for work), but they would also willingly vacate the space if someone claimed they were infringing over it.

Moreover, the families were tired of being shoved with bags and baggage. VSSM had helped them with their identification documents and later filed applications to the government for residential plots.

District Collector Shri K Rajesh had sanctioned plots for these families, and 6 of them also received aid to build a house over it.

Khedapji and his wife were at VSSM’s office after receiving the first instalment of the government aid.

“Ben, one builds a house only once in a lifetime, we have a dream to build a beautiful house, but we are falling short of resources. You help us as much as possible and loan us the balance amount because we want to build a beautiful house. You will never have to remind us about the EMI, and we will pay the instalments on time. Our community follows a rule of not carrying anyone’s debt.”

VSSM provided a loan of Rs. 70,000 and aid of Rs. 50,000 to each family. The families also poured their savings into building the splendid homes of their dreams (as seen in the picture).

I appreciate the understanding portrayed by the salat families. They never had the habit of saving, but after we tutored them on the need to save, they began doing so and were able to build these beautiful homes.

We are grateful to Mazda Limited for supporting four houses, Jewelex Foundation for supporting one house and Jakshabahen of Lion’s Club of Shahibaug for aiding one house. And the six salat families are beaming with joy. 

રહેનો કો ઘર નહીં સોને કો બીસ્તર નહીં.. એવી સ્થિતિ અમારી હતી પણ જુઓ આ તમે સ્વપ્ન બતાવ્યું ને અમારા બંગલા બન્યા..

સુરેન્દ્રનગરના ધ્રાંગધ્રાના વીરેન્દ્રગઢમાં જેમને રહેવા પ્લોટ ફળવાયા ને જેમના ઘર બંધાઈ રહ્યા છે તે ખેડપજીએ આ કહ્યું. 

સલાટ પરિવારોનો મૂળ ધંધો ઘંટી ટાંકવાનો ને ઘંટીના પડ વેચવાનો. પણ સમય બદલાયો ને હાથથી ચાલતી ઘંટીઓ ગઈ. હવે ચાદરો, ધાબળા ટૂંકમાં ઘર વરરાશનો સામાન વેચવાનું એ કરે ને એ માટે સ્થળાંતર કરે.

આમ તો ધ્રાંગધ્રા આસપાસના વિસ્તારમાં એ વર્ષોથી ચોમાસુ રહે. પણ જ્યાં રહે તે જગ્યા પોતાની નહીં આમ કોઈ જગ્યા ખાલી કરાવે તો ચૂપચાપ એ ખાલી કરી દે. પણ હવે લબાચા ફેરવીને એ થાક્યા. ખેડપજી ને એમની સાથેના 15 સલાટ પરિવારોને ઓળખના આધારો તો અમે કરાવી જ આપ્યા ને આધાર મળ્યા પછી સરકાર પાસે રહેણાંક અર્થે પ્લોટની માંગણી કરી. 

કલેક્ટર શ્રી કે.રાજેશે આ પરિવારોને રહેણાંક અર્થે પ્લોટ ફાળવ્યા ને એમાંથી છ પરિવારોને મકાન બાંધવા સહાય પણ મળી.  

ખેડપજી ને તેમના પત્ની સરકારી સહાયનો પ્રથમ હપ્તો મળ્યા પછી ઓફીસ આવ્યા ને કહ્યું, 

'બેન ઘર એક ફેરા બને. અમારુ સ્વપ્ન સરસ ઘરનું છે પણ અમારો પનો ટૂંકો પડે. તમે થાય એ મદદ કરો બાકી લોન આપો અમારે અમારા ઘરો સુંદર બનાવવા છે. લોનના હપ્તામાં તમારે અમને કહેવું નહીં પડે અમે સમયસર ચૂકવીશું' 

સલાટ સમુદાયમાં કોઈનું દેણું માથે ન રાખવાનો નિયમ. અમે પ્રત્યેક પરિવારને 50,000ની મદદ ઘર બાંધવા કરી અને 70,000ની લોન આપી.  થોડી બચત એ પ્લોટ મેળવવા ફોર્મ ભર્યા ત્યારથી કરતા આમ એક બંગલા બને ન્યારાનું સ્વપ્ન એમણે સાકાર કર્યું. જે ફોટોમાં જોઈ શકાય છે. 

સલાટ પરિવારોની સમજણ મને ગમી. ટીપે ટીપે સરોવર ભરાયની જેમ એમણે બચત કરી. પહેલાં એ બચત નહોતા કરતા પણ અમે સમજણ આપી મજબૂત ને સરસ ઘર બાંધવા પૈસા ભેગા કરોની ને એ સમજણ એમણે અમલી બનાવી એટલે આવા સરસ ઘર થઈ ગયા. 

ખેડપજી સાથે છ સલાટ પરિવારોમાંથી ચાર ઘર બાંધવા મઝદા લિમિટેડ, 1 ઘર માટે જ્વેલેક્ષ ફાઉન્ડેશન 1 ઘર માટે લાયન્સ કલ્બ ઓફ શાહીબાગના જક્ષાબહેને મદદ કરી તે માટે અમે તેમના આભારી છીએ.

“It is our good fortune that Almighty sent Mittalben to us!”

That was a profound statement Gulabbhai made before Kintubhai Gadhvi on camera. Such statements bring a sense of increasing responsibilities.

To be born and live a life as Dafer is a daunting task. The Dafer are hired to protect farm and village boundaries but always denied residency to the village. Under such circumstances 11 Dafer families living at various places in Surendranagar were allotted plots in Dhrangadhra’s Virendragadh, Gulabbhai is one of them.

“Getting a plot in Dhrangadhra has been the best thing. It is place where we will find work and we shall not obstruct anyone with our presence!”

Honestly, it is not this  community but our perception about them that has been an obstruction, not their presence. We are glad that acceptance has grown than earlier. 

Our heartfelt congratulations to Gulabbhai, Ushmanbhai and others who have received plots, their dream of living in a pucca  house will soon become a reality. 

Our Chief Minister has always shown compassion towards the plight of these communities, we respect his concern for these marginalised.  

Surendranagar District Collector and his team have worked hard to provide plots to homeless in the district. We applaud the path-breaking efforts they have put in.

કેવડી મોટી વાત ગુલાબભાઈએ કીંતુભાઈ ગઢવીના કેમેરા સમક્ષ કહી.  મૂળ તો આ બધુ સાંભળુ ત્યારે જવાબદારી વધ્યાનું લાગે... 

ડફેર તરીકે જન્મવું ને જીવવું ઘણું કપરુ.. સીમરખા તરીકે તો સૌ ગામમાં રાખે પણ કાયમી રહેવાની વાત આવે એટલે નકાર..આવામાં સુરેન્દ્રનગરમાં અલગ અલગ જગ્યાએ રહેતા 11 ડફેર પરિવારોને ધ્રાંગધ્રાના વીરેન્દ્રગઢમાં રહેણાંક અર્થે પ્લોટ મળ્યા. જેમાં ગુલાબભાઈને પણ એક પ્લોટ મળ્યો.. 

'ઘ્રાંગધ્રામાં વસવાટ થ્યો એ હારામાં હારુ થ્યું બેન.. આયાં નાનુ મોટુ કામેય જડી જાશે ને કોઈને અમારાથી નડતરેય નહીં થાય..'

આમ જુઓ તો નડતર આ સમુદાયની ક્યાં હતી. સમાજ તરીકે આપણે સૌ આ પરિવારોને સ્વીકારી ન શક્યા એની હતી.. 

ખેર પહેલાં કરતાં થોડો સ્વીકારભાવ વધ્યો છે એનો રાજીપો.. 

ગુલાબભાઈ, ઉષ્માનભાઈ જેમને પણ રહેણાંક અર્થે પ્લોટ ફળવાયા તે સૌને અભીનંદન. હવે એમના પાકા ઘરનું સમણું સાકાર થશે.. 

મુખ્યંત્રી શ્રીની લાગણીને પ્રણામ.. તેઓ હંમેશાં આ બધા પરિવારોને ઘર મળે તે માટે સતત ચિંતા કરે. તો સુરેન્દ્રનગર કલેક્ટર શ્રી અને તેમના અધિકારીગણનો આભાર એમણે આ પરિવારો માટે લાગણી રાખી માટે આ કાર્ય થયું.
